Linear Functions Practice

( 50 points )
1. Identify if the following linear functions are in standard form or slope intercept
form. (6 points)
y = x/2 + 1_____________________________________________________

y - x/2 = 1 _____________________________________________________

x/3 + 5 = 2_____________________________________________________

y = 3/2 + 7_____________________________________________________

y = -x/2 - 4______________________________________________________

6x + 5y = 1______________________________________________________

2. Write each linear function in slope intercept form (3 points)

y - x/3 = 1________________________________________________________

2y + 4x = 3_______________________________________________________

5x - y = x + 2______________________________________________________

3. Write each linear function in standard form (3 points)

y = 7x + 1________________________________________________________

y = 9 - x/2________________________________________________________

y = x/3 + 8________________________________________________________

4. For each linear function identify its slope and y-intercept. ( 4 points)

y = 3x + 2 : slope_____, y-intercept______

y = 1/2 + x : slope_____, y-intercept______

y = -5x + 7 : slope_____, y-intercept______

5. Go to Khan Academy, watch the video of graphing a linear function and then
click on the link Practice: graph from linear standard form, which is on the left
side of the screen and write down the questions and solutions. ( 10 Points)
6. Using Geogebra graph the following linear functions (24 points)
Linear functions graphs

y = 5x/2 - 3

y=x+5

y = -2x - 4

y=5+x
y = x/3 - 1

y = 2 - x/5
