Recommendations:
When comparing the two vision statements, I first notice how concise the KPBSD vision
statement appears. They are very similar in meaning, but KPBSD was short, sweet, and to the
point. I think both vision statements are clear, but the last part of Lincoln County’s vision is hard
to read to me and may need to be reworded. Both visions have a time horizon, as they are
referring to students becoming leaders or pursuing dreams in the future. I like how KPBSD does
not speak about stakeholders in their vision and they leave the statement up to the student to
pursue their dreams. Lincoln County’s statement reads as if it is up to stakeholders to take the
students and prepare them to be leaders. That isn’t necessarily true and sometimes students will
push their own self to become a leader. Overall, they are 2,000 miles away from each other…
yet, their vision statements have the same concept but are worded completely differently.
