How I currently use Smore:
- During golf season, I use it to send out the weekly newsletter.
- Includes:
o Schedule for the next two weeks
o Important notes
o Pictures
o Video tip/instruction item
o Match and tournament results

What I like about Smore:


- Very easy to use – I like it better than email or
- Easy to quickly customize: background, color, and font
- Include different types of media - pictures, video, audio, even
Google Forms
- Share with others through a link (ex. Tweet or Remind out),
email list, printing, or embedding
- Easy to fix, change, or copy for your next newsletter
- Professional-looking presentation tool – works great with mobile devices

How could you use Smore:


Teacher
- Syllabus, Couse Overview, or Introduction to students/parents
- Class newsletters (you don’t have to do every week)
- Class promotion during registration
- Showcase student work, projects, field trips, etc.
- Announcement flyers for fundraisers, clubs, events, summer trips, etc.
- Professional Development
- Flipped Classroom
- Review

Student
- Presentation
- Book reports
- Research projects (ex. civil rights leaders/events, businesses/entrepreneurs, authors, parts of a cell,

Tips to consider:
- Add content first and then customize the appearance.
- There is a free version and paid educator version ($59). Educator allows for emailing out unlimited
newsletters, custom backgrounds, etc.
- You can get by on the free version by sending out link or revising previous newsletters. You could also
split an educator account.
- If you’re a club, sport, or activity sponsor, consider having someone (student or parent) in charge of
your Smore account.
- Encourage people to “Follow” you on Smore, so they automatically get new flyers.
- Use Remind, Twitter, and Infinite Campus to distribute your Smores & don’t get too hung up on
emailing through Smore.
- Smores update in real time when you make any corrections, additions, or changes.
