GLOBALIZATION

Globalization is defined as the increasing integration and interaction between people, companies, and governments around the world through international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process impacts environments, cultures, politics, economies, and human well-being globally. As a student, globalization has impacted education by increasing competition between countries and schools, requiring students to study more to compete internationally. One example is the Philippines' new K+12 curriculum, which the first batch of students struggled under due to unpreparedness for the many changes brought by the new program.

1. What is Globalization?
Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people,
companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international
trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on
the environment, culture, political systems, economic development and human physical well-
being in societies around the world.
On my own understanding of what globalization is, it is the way of how countries and
societies all over the world are interconnected with each other with the great help of
technology, different countries are helping each other in terms of trading of products and
services. It is also the development which is systematically reorganizing interactive stage
among the countries by breaking down barriers in some areas like culture, communication
and etc. The removal or breaking down of barriers are helpful to encourage the flow of
goods, services, capital, and labor.

2. What are the concept of globalization?

 Privatization- it is the privatization of businesses, the concept of globalization
encourages the privatization of businesses that are owned by government. It
means that developing countries to reduce their social services spending and
many of the social service become privatized, which means the social services
like health care and electricity is sold to a private company and the government no
longer owns those social service. The good effect of this to citizen is less taxes to
pay, the citizens of a country no longer have to pay for the social services from
taxes
 Deregulation- The government must let consumers to interact with each other to
stabilize the economy. And also buildings and distribution of common goods or
products such as water, oil, and electricity must be free from movements.
 Liberalization- it refers to end of licence, quota and many more restrictions and
controls which were put on industries before 1991. It also means that policies
regarding the import of products need to be amended or modified to free trade in
the country.

3. Impact of globalization to you as a student.

Global phenomenon today has also affected the education sector. Due to the competition
of different countries by means of education, and also competition of schools brought by
globalization, as a student I am very much affected because it means that we as a student
also needs to be more competitive and study more to be able to compete with other
country. One example of this is the new curriculum of the country, the K+12. Since we
are the first batch of this curriculum, the government is not that ready enough to fulfill all
the needs so that on our previous year as a senior high school student we struggle a lot in
terms of many changes brought by the curriculum.
