Diversity is everything that makes people different from each other. This includes many
different factors: race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, ability, age,
religious belief, or political conviction. Furthermore, Diversity in the classroom teaches
students to appreciate different perspectives and draw stronger conclusions. Challenging
students to consider different perspectives can also teach them how to interact with their peers
on a social level, and equip them with skills they’ll use for the rest of their life.
Every learners had a necessity to learn the knowledge in other word every learners had
a learning needs. Moreover, learning needs is the gap between the learner’s current level of
knowledge and skills, and the level of knowledge and skills required to perform a task or a set
of tasks. The actual needs differ, as do the methods employed to meet those needs. To
illustrate the learning needs are knowledge, skills, and attitudinal shifts and Attitudinal
Learning.
Learning needs which comprise both essential learning tools (such as literacy, oral
expression, numeracy, and problem solving) and the basic learning content (such as
knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes) required by human beings to be able to survive, to
develop their full capacities, to live and work in dignity, to participate fully in development, to
improve the quality of their lives, to make informed decisions, and to continue learning. The
scope of basic learning needs and how they should be met varies with individual countries and
cultures, and inevitably, changes with the passage of time.
Similarly, to the diversity of learners, every learner has a different style to acquire
knowledge. The term “learning styles” speaks to the understanding that every student learns
differently. One of the most accepted understandings of learning styles is that student learning
styles fall into four categories: Visual Learners, Auditory Learners, Kinesthetic Learners,
Reading and writing learners.
To identify those learners who are good at visual learners is the learners with a
preference for visual learning is partial to seeing and observing things, including pictures,
diagrams, written directions and more. This is also referred to as the “spatial” learning style.
Next, to recognize auditory learners tend to learn better when the subject matter is reinforced
by sound. These students would much rather listen to a lecture than read written notes, and
they often use their own voices to reinforce new concepts and ideas. These types of learners
prefer reading out loud to themselves. After that, to recognize kinesthetic learners sometimes
called tactile learners in the class, learn through experiencing or doing things. Lastly, to
recognize reading/writing learners this are the learners prefer to learn through written words.
While there is some overlap with visual learning, these types of learners are drawn to
expression through writing, reading articles or books, writing in diaries, looking up words in the
dictionary and searching the internet for just about everything.
Multiple intelligences refer to a theory describing the different ways students learn and
acquire information. These multiple intelligences range from the use of words, numbers,
pictures and music, to the importance of social interactions, introspection, physical movement
and being in tune with nature. Accordingly, an understanding of which type(s) of intelligence a
student may possess can help teachers adjust learning styles, and suggest certain career
paths for learners.
A teacher (also called a school teacher or, in some contexts, an educator) is a person
who helps students to acquire knowledge, competence or virtue. Some other professions may
involve a significant amount of teaching (e.g. youth worker, pastor). However, a professional
teacher based on the code of ethics, teachers are duly licensed profession, possess dignity
and reputation, and technical and professional competence.
A learners profile is a document, project, or even conversation that helps teachers learn
more about their students. Learner profiles may include information such as: skills, strengths,
and interests, aspirations and passions, Likes and dislikes, life experiences, how the student
likes to learn or potential barriers to learning anything else the student or teacher deems
important.
Teachers can use learner profiles to build effective relationships, develop an inclusive
classroom, and understand what technology, differentiations, or adaptations may be needed
for individual students.
The easiest and most effective way to generate learner profiles is to have the students
create their own. Since learners much more knowledgeable to their self therefore they can
create this with trustworthy information.
