Trainer: I am very happy to see that you are all around today because in the duration of your training, your
attendance is a must. Your training will be from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. This training covers 248 hours and
so you have to comply the required hours mandated by TESDA. But if it happens that you cannot make it to the
training, then you should notify us ahead of time. Of course, always remember to abide with the school’s rules, you
should follow the dress code, wear your uniform and ID every time you enter the school premises. Are we clear?

CBT or the Competency Based Training. In traditional or conventional teaching we do the teacher/trainer centered
instruction like lectures. But in Competency Based Training it focuses on the competency development of learner as a
result of the training, and it is concern with the attainment and application of knowledge, skills and attitude to a
specific level of competency, meaning to say as a trainer and trainee we should anchor the ground rules base on the
Competency standard and Training regulation. An effective method in delivering training activities must be goal
oriented and consistent with the 10 Principles of Competency Based Training

Im going to give you a brief background about Bookkeping NCIII. This qualification is composed of Basic, Common
and Core Competencies with corresponding duration or time and this is based on the training regulation
For Basic Competencies 20 hrs. common 24 hrs and core 248 hrs. For this duration in this qualification , will be
spending a lot of hours, that would be 292 hrs. and equivalent to 36 and a half. .
Throughout the process you’ll be using the CBLM, so CBLM is COMPETENCY-BASED LEARNING MATERIAL.
This tool facilitates individual learning process. So, what is inside the CBLM? it consists of information sheet
which you needed to learn in particular learning outcome and self-check to verify the acquisition of
knowledge an answer key to compare you answer with, a task sheet for single task, a job sheet if you’re
doing a group of task of course with performance criteria checklist.
Here in our training center, we have 9 learning areas. Please stand and let’s have a tour so that you will be
familiar with our learning areas.
For evaluation, you will only be rated as competent or not yet competent. to determine your knowledge, skills and
attitude. The assessment method we will use, will be written test, demonstration with oral questioning and oral
interview. The assessment method can measure your underpinning knowledge, skills, attitude and understanding
based on the training regulation

I have here with me the Pre assessment test; So, what is the purpose of this pre assessment test?
1. To determent trainee’s characteristics.
2. To evaluate whether you have a prior learning or current competencies.
3. To assess your training needs and training gaps.
I’ll be using 3 methods:
1. Self-assessment – this is answerable by yes or no
2. Learner’s characteristics – this deals about yourself
3. Pre-test – this will identify if you have knowledge about this
This is the CBLM for UC 1, which is journalizing transaction. You have to read the information sheet, accomplish
the self-check and compare the results with the answer key. You can also proceed to the Computer
Laboratory to view video clips. If you have any questions about concepts of particular topic related to
mathematics, English or science you can go to contextualized Learning Area If you are ready to perform the
activity you may proceed to the practical area. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call my attention

TRAINER: Miss Andrade, since you have prior learning in UC 1, please proceed to Institutional Assessment area, I
want to validate your Prior learning. This way please.

TRAINEE: To further validate you prior learning aside from this certificates. Please accomplish the written test. This is
for 15 minutes, 30 items and the passing rate is 80%

TRAINER: ms. Andrade, Based on the CERTIFICATES that you have submitted. It shows this is valid, recent,
consistent, sufficient and aligned with this qualification and the result of your written test. You got a score of 27/30. A
Satisfactory score. It’s shown that you have a prior learning. I am now convinced that you are competent with
this Unit of Competency 1_____________________.I will record this result to the achievement chart and
progress chart and after that I will include your name in the training activity matrix UC 2. You may now proceed
to the learning resource area and read the CBLM and I will assign you for UC2, which is post transactions.

the Institutional Competency Assessment anytime in your own convenience. Just call my attention if you’re ready

the CBLM, Computer laboratory to do some research and practical work area to practice to become efficient. So my

Institutional assessment is composed of 3 methods. The assessment method we’ll be having written test that consists
of 30 items good for 30 minutes. The passing rate is 80% you need to get 24 pints. Demonstrations good for 20
minutes perform list of asset, liability, equity, income and expense account titles and oral interview. In order to rate
you as competent. You should satisfy the assessment methods which are written test, demonstration and oral
interview. Please observe safety as you perform your task, be mindful of the fire exit and the fire extinguisher in case

TRAINER: So, this is the last method. A 30 item written test good for 30 minutes. You can now answer.
Base on the result of your written test. You got almost perfect score 28/30. Your score is satisfactory. During the oral
interview, you also answer all the questions satisfactorily. For your demonstration, you perform all the tasks needed,
you’ve shown the exact skills that is set by the standard. To sum it up that was a very good performance.
Congratulations I will now record the result to the progress chart and put your name in the training activity matrix. You
can now start the activity in UC2 which is posting transactions
Since you are competent in all the Unit of competency for this BOOKEEPING NC III, You are now qualified to take the
National Competency Assessment.
You may go to any accredited TESDA COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT CENTER and apply for the national
competency. Please bring two passport PICTUREmust be white background with collar and bring 500 pesos as your
assessment fee, you will be asked to fill out the application form and the self assessment guide. And just wait for the
schedule of your national assessment Is that clear?
