The First Lesson (for young kids)

1. Hellos
2. Talk to kid, make them feel comfortable (3-5 minutes for part 1 and 2)
3. Keep the beat
March around room to a moderate tempo
Pat arm every four beats eventually (5 minutes)
1. Assess kid’s capacity to know:
• Loud vs Soft
• Short vs Long
• Same vs Different
• High vs Low
(3 minutes)
Clapping game (3 minutes)

How to sit at a piano (very basic) (2 minutes)


Teach Hot Cross Buns (rote style) (5 minutes)
