ACTIVITY 1
Finish the Story (LEA).
The teacher will show a picture and start a story. Randomly the teacher will pick a student to
continue the story. The students must listen carefully and will make a sentence to connect the story
until the end.

The teacher will reveal the objectives of the day. The teacher will discuss the topic of the day.
1. Characters: People that make up the story; could also be in form of things, animals, etc.
2. Setting: The place or time of action.
3. Plot: What happens in a story.

4. Conflict: Creates drama in the story
 external conflict- one character in conflict with another character/s
 internal conflict- character’s struggle within; feelings, fear, suspicion hostility or

Students will answer the following questions:
1. What are the elements of a short story?
2. Why do we need to know the elements in making a short story?

B. Application/ ASSESSMENT
1 Whole sheet of paper. The students will read the story “Why There Is a High Tide During Full
Moon”. By pair the students will list down the elements based on what they have read. Write at least
2-3 sentences to define.
