IV. Project Brief: This project sought to collect reliable data to answer all the
three (3) research questions. After the issuance of the respondents’ Consent
and Assent Forms, they were subjected for data gathering proper.
Considering that the respondents were third-graders, the gathering of data
was set in multiple schedules. Two separate dates were assigned with and an
interval of two days. For the first schedule of data collection, the students
were gathered in one room to take the comprehension test in Chabacano and
to answer the inferencing strategies checklist. On the second set time, the
respondents were asked to answer the reading comprehension test in English
and the inferencing strategy checklist. The answering of the comprehension
test and checklist took about 15 to 20 minutes.
