TASK 2: INDIVIDUAL-BASED EXAMINATION

I am always a collector of things. No matter how small or thin the object is as long as it reminds me of
something or comes from someone- I would keep it. The problem is, where would I keep them, and until when
would I have to worry about keeping them?
We store a pile of cardboard boxes at home in case we need it for later use.
Instead of dumping them there as if they are some sort of decoration, why not
make use of them instead? In lieu of buying another cabinet or drawer or looking
for fine woods to create one, a cardboard box could actually stand almost the
same! You are not just contributing to the sustainability of our environment but
as well as encouraging yourself to be more productive and creative likewise.
This is my personal locker made with cardboard boxes, covered with leftover
birthday wrappers and unused clothing that has a rug-like fabric quality. One of
its advantages is it can be moved and place anywhere. It also lessens the space of
your table and put it there instead of spreading them across. However, it should not be put in a place where it
can get crumpled or wet especially if you have kids and pets at home.
It may never be as genius-looking as a plastic device nor a battery-produced bulb, but I can assure you that
your recycled cardboard box will save 72 trees and a landmass that was supposedly intended for its
decomposition. 60 boxes are almost equivalent to a one-and-a-half pine tree. Recycling one ton of cardboard
saves over nine cubic yards of landfill space. Therefore, recycling all of your household wastes including
cardboard boxes can reduce carbon dioxide emission by 850 pounds (Eco Mastery Project, 2020).
You're not making a waste severely useless; you're making use of it into something so simple but not everyone
could think of. You are giving second life to a dull piece of paper. Once a recyclable thing is contaminated- it
cannot be recycled anymore. So instead of dumping it aside, go ahead and create one. It only needs boxes and
loads of creativity!
