TS-990S TX Mod

This document provides instructions for modifying a Kenwood TS-990 radio to expand its transmitting frequency ranges. The modification involves opening the radio's bottom panel, removing a lead plate, opening resistor R335, replacing the lead plate carefully to avoid cables, closing the bottom panel, and powering on the radio, which will then automatically reset. Once modified, the radio will be able to transmit between 100-522 kHz, 1.705-30 MHz, and 49-54 MHz.

dk -> KENWOOD -> TS-990 -> Here it is the TX mod for all models TS-990

1. Open bottom.

2. Remove the big L plate (lead to the ctrl unit).

3. Open R335 (see attached picture).

4. Put L Plate back **** WATCH OUT FOR THE FLATCABLES ****

5. Put bottom back.

6. Switch 990 on.

When TRX is swithed on it reset automaticly.

TX: 100-522 Khz


TX: 1.705-30 Mhz
TX 49 - 54 Mhz
