AMENDMENT SHEET

Reform Title Representation of the Philippines as a province of Spain

Revision(s) Representation of the Philippines in the Spanish Cortes
1. Representation of the Philippines in the Spanish Cortes
2. Equal opportunity for Filipinos and Spanish people to enter
Government Service
3. Legalization of Spanish and Filipino Equality
4. Guarantee for the Filipinos to hold basic freedoms or rights
5. The Philippines will recognize as a country and Filipinos
will respectfully remain/called/recognize as a Filipinos
Justification(s) In the reform for the Representation of the Philippines as a
Minimum of five (5)m Province of Spain which the Ilustrado proposed to improve the
sentences conditions of the fellowmen to be assimilated in the Spanish
colony as a province rather than a territory. Even it is more likely
selling our country to the Spaniards the provisions of the Ilustrado
made are not because they are cowards and traitors, it shows
how they love their fellowmen. Even though they have good
motives for making this reform, I don't approve that our country
will be a Spanish province. The provisions they make are very
well put and, they do make it for our fellowmen for so, they will live
harmoniously with the Spaniards. But if we let them take over our
country the country will vanish, and the people will be recognized
and called in a different name. For the sake of our motherland and
our ancestors, we should remain as what we are, recognize who
we are, and know where are we from. I remained all the
provisions they put I only add one special provision "The
Philippines will recognize as a country and Filipinos will
respectfully remain/called/recognize as a Filipinos" it is somewhat
made like we are completely free from the Spaniards but still
'partially' colonized by them since the Philippines was 100%
colonized by that era but with this provisions, our country is
somehow made the Spaniards partially colonized us since we
have the rights and freedom like them
SECOND AMENDMENT SHEET
Reform Title Secularization and Public Education
Revision(s) The amendment is acceptable, for me there shouldn’t any revision
to make.

Justification(s) I somehow agree to this reform and has no further complaint

Minimum of five (5)m against it, since it advocates good outcome to Filipino people, and
sentences it has good motives. the provision allows the Filipino to enter
priesthood. By having Filipino parishioners, the obstacles
toeducation and freedom will be a lot easier since the Church
back then aremore in control than the officials of the government
or the state. Also, in thisreform stated about the creation of public
schools that is independent of friarswhich means the education
should be for all people, rich or poor, Spaniards orFilipinos.
Education should not be expensive because knowledge is free for
allpeople and for the one who will operate and teach to the school
are thepeople who willing to teach and share their knowledge and
should beindependent to friars.

THIRD AMENDMENT SHEET

Reform Title Ease of Tax Payment and Manual Labor

Revision(s) 1. Filipinos should not pay their taxes as recognition of
Spain’s sovereign over the Colonies
2. Those who are able and reasonably should only pay tax.

Justification(s) Polo y servicio is the system of forced labor which evolved within
Minimum of five (5)m the framework of the encomienda system, introduced into the
sentences South American colonies by the Conquistadores and Catholic
priests who accompanied them. It was present in almost all of the
Spanish colonial government around the world. Polo y servicio is
the forced labor for 40 days of men ranging from 16 to 60 years of
age who were obligated to give personal services to community
projects. One could be exempted from polo by paying the falla
(corruption of the Spanish Falta, meaning “absence”), a daily fine
of one and a half real.
The people who can afford to pay tax and those who is
reasonable be paying tax should only be a tax payer. Despite
being mandatory, there shouldn’t be one who are unable to pay
tax that will be force.
