1. Give the variable/s of environmental scanning which is/are present in the given case study.

 The variable of environmental scanning which present in the case study is the societal
environment, specifically the technological forces because as what mentioned in the case,
Kodak grew rapidly on the back of research and patents that set the standards for decades.
However, the company failed to adapt to new market conditions brought by the innovation in
technology and other society related factors.

2. Explain the most appropriate industry analysis tool which could have been employed by Kodak
to avoid the said organizational problem.

 The most appropriate industry analysis tool which could have been employed by Kodak to avoid
the said organizational problem is the SWOT analysis because this tool could help the Kodak
Company to assess their internal and external environment that may result to identification of
possible strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for their company. This method will
helped Kodak to have formulated the related plans and courses of action that may the company
adopt the market trends and of course to retain its superior competitive position in the market.
