THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH IMPACT OF PAINT
PRODUCT
Abstract:
Paints are used in our daily life for the decoration of home, furniture.
But conventional paints are being said as harmful to both humans and
the environment. Hazardous chemicals are used in the production of
paints which effect on our body like irritate skin, trigger allergies, eyes,
air ways headaches, asthmatic reactions, and put increased stress on vital
organs such as the heart. 20% to 40% increased risk of lung cancer for
the those come into regular contact with or work with paint. Eco-
friendly paints are being termed as the safe substitute for such paints.
Companies find ways to achieve goals such as protection of the
environment, social well-being and economic development. Companies
try to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness of paints to make
eco-friendly, eco-design to minimize the environmental impacts.

Introduction:
Paints are composed of raw materials such as solvents, pigments, dyes
and other chemicals materials. The important these compounds possess
hazardous properties like white spirit, toluene & methyl benzene are
commonly used inorganic solvents & easily evaporate into indoor air.
When evaporating, the solvents in the paint release VOCs into the
atomosphere; it reacts with oxygen to form “bad ozone”.
Conclusion:
● Oil based paints generally contain more VOCs than water-based paints
