processes by synthesizing and applying prior knowledge and
skills.
B. Performance Standard The learner shall be able to perform/participate competently
in a presentation of a creative impression(verbal/nonverbal)
from the neoclassical and Romantic periods.
C. Learning Competency a. Identify and discuss distinct characteristic of visual arts
commonly present during the Neoclassic and Romantic
periods (A9EL-IIIb-2);
b. Shows the influence of Neoclassic and Romantic periods
on Philippine art forms (Zamboanga City famous sculptures)
(A9PR-IIIf-4);
c. Creates artwork guided by techniques and styles of the
Neoclassic and Romantic periods (clay sculpture art) (A9PR-
IIIc-e-1).

Routinary Activity:  Health Protocol: Sanitize Hands before entering the
classroom
 Inspection of tidiness and organization of classroom
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance by class beadle
A. Activity
Preliminaries and Review  After a short review, the Teacher settles the mood with a
question to ponder towards the students that if they can
turn back time, what would they like to change and why.
The teacher will present the Lesson’s Objective.
Motivation  Teacher shows an eye opener video presentation about
Video Presentation: Making a Good Art

Guide questions:
 What is the short clip about?
 What do you understand about putting your passion in
everything you do?
 Is art present in our everyday lives? If yes, in what
way does it inspire you to become a more sound person?

Activity 1: Pre-Assessment  For this activity, students are provided each with a tablet
PC. A series of pictures of the different famous sculptures
found in our beloved city will be shown. Identify the
name of the sculpture.

  Guide Questions:
a. What does the following pictures have in common?
b. Why is it important for us to know our famous
landmarks, arts, culture of our own city?
 The teacher will also add some additional important
information in between discussions to further extend their
understanding.
 If the criteria 90% is met, proceed to next part of the
lesson.

B. Analysis  Discover the MYSTERY WORD by reading and


Activity 2: analyzing the clues given. Write your answers on the space
MYSTERY WORD provided. Upon discussion, teacher will also encourage
student’s participation along the way and may add few
additional information.

Guide Questions:
1. Which of the following types of visual arts (Painting,
Sculpture, or Architecture) are more appealing to you?
2. Have you used art as a therapeutic aid to deal with
problems or the opposite (happiness)? Does it help?

 To further the concept lesson, teacher adds additional info


about neoclassical and romanticism arts.

C. Abstraction  Instructions:
Activity 3: In your activity sheets, read and analyze each sentence.
Neo or Roman The identify whether it falls under the description of
(3 minutes) Neoclassical Period or Romanticism Period by writing
Neo for Neoclassical or Roman for Romanticism.

D. Application Recap Guide Questions:


1. What is the main difference between neoclassical and
romanticism?
2. In visual arts, there are 3 types of art. Name those
three.
3. Give one example of G. Tolentino’s famous work?

V. Evaluation
Sculpture  As we are nearer towards the highlight of the lesson, the
10 minutes students have already grasped the vital concept of the
Neoclassical and Romanticism art. And going back to the
video clip they’ve watched awhile ago, they are going to
create and apply what they learned by putting passion to
the task set forth for them. Now they will have the chance
to show their uniqueness and prove for themselves what
it takes to make a good and better artwork guided by the
techniques and styles of the said concept.

 In this activity, you will create a sculpture; do you still


remember the Ponder this question I posted awhile ago?
The question again is:
“Just for once, if you’ll be granted with a wish that
you can turn back time and change one moment of your
life, what would it be?”

 So, you are going to answer the question by creating it as


a sculpture be it either a human, a scene, an any figure, or
an architecture (buildings, house, towers, etc.) that
represent that moment you wanted to change.

 Material: Everyone is provided with a set of clay as your


medium. You can use sticks or ruler for carving if you
want.
 Use the rubric as your guide.
Then later, present your output in the class, starting with this
phrase.
