Mathematics Projects
A minimum of two Projects/Assignments are to be done.

Suggested Projects/Assignments

1. To conduct a survey of a group of students and represent it graphically - height, weight, number of family
members, pocket money, etc.

2. Planning delivery routes for a postman/milkman.

3. Running a tuck shop/canteen.

4. To use flat cutouts to form cube, cuboids and pyramids to obtain formulae

for volume and total surface area.

5. To study ways of raising a

loan to buy a car or house, e.g. bank loan or purchase a refrigerator or a television set through hire purchase.

Physics Project
1. To determine the least count of the vernier callipers and measure the length and diameter of small cylinder,
maybe a metal rod of length of 2 to 3 cm and diameter 1 to 2 cm.

2. To determine the zero error, zero correction, pitch and least count of the given screw gauge and measure
the mean radius of the wire.

3. To measure the volume of the metal bob by measuring its radius using vernier callipers.

(1/Slope).

Plant life:-

(i) The examination of an onion peel under the microscope to study various parts of the cell.
(ii) A cross-pollinated flower to be examined and identified and the parts to be studied and labelled
e.g. Hibiscus.
(iii)Specimens of germinating seeds with plumule and radicle (the bean seed and maize grain) for examination,
identification, drawing and labelling the parts.

Animal life

(i) The examination of a human cheek cell under the microscope to study various parts of the cell.
(ii) Examination and identification of specimens belonging to the following groups of animals: Non- Chordata -
Porifera, Coelenterata, Platyhelminthes, Nemathelminthes Annelida, Arthropoda. Mollusca and
Echinodermata. Chordata- Pisces, Amphibia, Reptilia, Aves, Mammalia.
(iii) Identification of the structure of the following organs through specimens/models and charts: Lung and
skin.

HISTORY AND CIVICS PROJECT/ INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

TOPIC: Make a Comparative study of Harappan and Mesopotamian Civilization .
