“School Sports Intramurals 2019”
“Sports had a great impact in my life.it gave me the opportunity to bring prestige to my country
and moulded me into what I am today. I want my children to experience the same.”, as it was quoted
by Lydia de Vega-Mercado, first Filipina woman to win back-to-back in the 100m dash Asian competi-
tion (1982, 1986). To develop this character, the Kakawate National High School (KNHS) located at
Paradise III, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan conducts school sports intramurals annually.
With a theme, “GOALS, GAMES’ OBJECTIVES AMPLIFYING LIFE LESSONS”, the
KNHS successfully conducted the School Sports Intramurals, this 13 th, 14th and 16thst day of August,
year 2019. It was merrily started with the The Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) marched with a dis-
tinctive entrance of colors. It was followed by the National Anthem, which was conducted by Gilbert
Q. Selva, (a Senior High School teacher), Region III Hymn, City of San Jose Del Monte Hymn, DepEd
CSJDM Hymn and KNHS March had been heartily sung by the Kakawatians. A prayer was also ut-
tered by Trisha S. Sequitin, MAPEH CLUB President, so as to give thanks to the Lord. At the same
time, as guidance and enlightenment throughout the program. Lighting of Torch was also held by
Jophel Andren, Hydrogen Suarez, and Jameshon Daligdig representatives for CLRAA and Batang Pi-
noy. The Oath of Athletes was headed by Ingrid Barrammeda, an Athletics representative for CLRAA
and Batang Pinoy . The Oath of Sportsmanship was headed by Mr. Paulo B. Ubay as the Sports Coor-
dinator.
For the opening remarks, Madam Lourdes Robes, the school principal, gave the Kakawatians
the words of courage and great performance. It was followed by the Hoisting of Banners representing
their teams.
It was an awe as the day broke early in the morning on the 18 th day of September, 2019 wherein
20 schools from the public institution had been gathered for the Sports Fest particularly the Public Sec-
ondary Schools Athletic Association or the PSSAA Meet 2019.
The MAPEH Team headed by Eric J. Manuevo functioned as a single entity toward a common
goal; “To fight in spite of, despite of.” From the Senior High School Department, Gilbert Q. Selva and
Julius S. Villanueva portrayed their role as tournament managers and coaches at the same time. And so
with Paulo B. Ubay and Melanie S. Laranang of the Junior High School Department. Support and dedi-
cation were also extended by Cristel Ann V. Policarpio, Marcos C. Espaῆola, Aiyra J. Dela Cruz and
Angelica B. Bonita.
During the opening, Kristille Irish B. Sanchez waved out, walked with confidence representing
our school for the Miss PSSAA 2019.
Sepak Takraw (Boys) had made it to the 3rd place. For the girls, they had marked out the 3rd
place. The Paddlers of Table Tennis particularly Arjhel dela Cruz, hold on tight for the 1 st place. Je-
