1. Basic Setup
1.1. Activate Business Functions
Go to transaction SFW5 and activate business functions shown to activate ATTP Add-On objects
in S4 1909. This is a manual step and needs to be implemented in all new instances.

Select all three and activate changes.

2. Communication Setup
2.1. Define Logical Systems
Define the logical system, which represents the central SAP Advanced Track and Trace for
Pharmaceuticals repository instance to integrate master data via transaction /STTPEC/LOGSYS -
Define Logical Systems.

2|Page

2.2. Define RFC Destinations

Define the RFC destination which points to the central SAP Advanced Track and Trace for
Pharmaceuticals repository instance.

2.3. Define HTTP Destinations

This connection is used by the Warehouse Management (WM) Toolbox functions that are part
of the ERP add-on. In addition, it is used for integrating batch master data, recording goods
receipts from production (lot-level traced materials) and processing enriched ASN data.

The connection type for HTTP is "G" (external). The target host needs to be the address of the
SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals repository instance. The path prefix to be
entered is "/sap/opu/odata/sttp/warehouse_service_srv".

2.4. Assign RFC destination to logical system

Assign RFC destination configured for ATTP client to the logical system setup for ATTP instance
in S4H 1909, using transaction code BD97.

3. Master data customization

3.1. Customize Material Master
With SAP S/4HANA, the ERP material master is extended with different attributes at MARA,
MARC, MARM and MEAN level. SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals in SAP S/4
HANA includes corresponding append structures for these tables.

To make the additional serialization attributes available within the ERP material master, the ERP
material master customizing requires to be extended.

To customize the ERP material master screens, go to SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ->
Logistics – General -> Material Master -> Configuring the Material Master.

Select the screen sequence ’21 - Std ind.(short) tab pages’, from the available options and
double click on Data Screens.

3.2. Enhance Basic Data

Select ‘Basic Data 1’ from the list and click on Sub screens.

Replace the existing program and screen with /STTPEC/SAPLMM_MAT_EXT and 1001 at the
highlighted position and save the configuration.

3.3. Enhance Work Scheduling

Similar to basic data 1, select ‘Work Scheduling’ from the list and select sub screens.

Replace the existing program and screen with /STTPEC/SAPLMM_MAT_EXT and 1002 at the
highlighted position and save the configuration.

3.4. Enhance Units of Measure

Similar to earlier tabs, select ‘Units of Measure’ from the list and select sub screens.

Replace the existing program and screen with /STTPEC/SAPLMM_MAT_EXT and 8024 at the
highlighted position and save the configuration.

3.5. Enhance Additional EANs

Similar to earlier tabs, select ‘Additional EANs’ from the list and select sub screens.

Replace the existing program and screen with /STTPEC/SAPLMM_MAT_EXT and 8023 at the
highlighted position and save the configuration.

3.6. Assign Fields to Field Selection Group

In addition, the following field settings should be done to prevent the accidental copying of
internal attribute values from another material in case materials are created from template.

Add the additional material master fields from MARA, MARC and MARM to the list, and assign
an appropriate field selection group.

For all fields use the following settings:

 Set the maintenance status to K. (For the field MARC-/STTPEC/SERVALID set the
maintenance status to A)
 Ensure that the Propose field cont. indicator is set to False, as otherwise the field values
would be copied when creating a material from a template.

16 MARM-/STTPEC/SER_GTIN K 111
17 MEAN-/STTPEC/SER_GTIN K 111

3.7. Setup National Code Type – Unique/Non Unique

Use the transaction /STTPEC/NCODE_UNIQUE to create or set customizing parameter
NCODE_NON_UNIQUE. This parameter cannot be directly changed in the transaction General
Customizing. If created, the parameter can be reviewed in the transaction
/CDBASIS/CUSTGEN_DIS under Program Settings.

The parameter NCODE_NON_UNIQUE can have two values:

 FALSE - National Code and National Code Type are unique in the system
 TRUE - National Code and National Code Type are not unique in the system

4. General Customizing
4.1. Number Range Maintenance for GLN
Using the number range object ‘GLN’, maintain number range interval as shown in transaction
code SNRO.

4.2. Maintain GLN for a Plant

After maintaining the number range in SNRO, maintain relevant GLNs for plants in transaction
code ‘EANGLN’.

4.3. Add-On Customization Parameters

The General Customizing provides access to all central customizing and operational settings that
do not have a separate Customizing transaction. The definition of General Customizing is based
on an application area and parameter key. For some settings optional parameters are
supported. All operational settings are stored in a database table with delivery class A
(application table) and all customizing settings are stored in a database table with delivery class
C (customizing). The tables have different authorizations. Therefore, for example, you can
enable the maintenance of an application parameter in a productive system, but you can
restrict the maintenance of customizing settings.

The General Customizing can be accessed via transaction /STTPEC/CUSTGEN.

4.4. Customizing for Integration of Business Partners

To integrate customers and vendors maintain the relevant accounts groups that are relevant for
integration, using transaction code /STTPEC/VC_BPTYPE.

Then add the account groups for the respective business partner type that is considered
relevant to be integrated to SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals.

4.5. Customizing for integration of Batches

Batches can be integrated to SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals without
further customizing. Additional batch attributes can be customized to trigger updates and sent
to SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals.

To do so maintain the additional batch attributes as being relevant for checking SAP Advanced
Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals relevance. Attributes can also be marked as relevant for
integration which adds these attributes to the batch extension table within the interface
between ERP and SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals.

This can be done in transaction code ‘/STTPEC/C_BDCF’.

4.6. Customizing for integration of Materials

Materials can be integrated to SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals without
further customizing. Additional material master attributes can be customized to trigger updates
being sent to SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals.

To do so maintain the additional material master attributes as being relevant for checking SAP
Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals relevance. Attributes can also be marked as
relevant for integration which adds these attributes to the material extension table within the

This can be done in transaction code ‘/STTPEC/V_PMDCF’.

The customizing supports attributes from the following:

 Material Descriptions
 General Material Data
 Plant Data for Material
 Storage Location Data for Material
 Units of Measure for Material
