A total of 10 points per principle will be given, making the activity 70 points in
all. Thank you.

Principle I: Assessment should be aligned with the students’ objectives,

competencies, and educational standard.

- Assessment are one of the way to evaluate the students’ knowledge.

Assessment are more focused in strengths and weakness where the
teacher would be able to know where they should make adjustments.
Assessments should demonstrate how well students have learned what we
want them to learn, while instruction ensures that they do. Assessments,
learning objectives, and instructional strategies must be closely aligned in
order to strengthen one another. The educational standard must be not
beyond to their knowledge and skills which can give them confusions but
it will serve as a guide.

Principle II: The formative assessment needs to be scaffold students in the

summative assessment.

- Formative assessment is a method where the teacher would be asking to

students to do tasks that are new to them and help them do it. The
objective of evaluation is to measure student learning and provide
ongoing feedback that instructors and students can use to improve their
teaching and learning. This way it can be applied in the summative
assessment where the teacher will be able to know if the students have
learned from the discussed lessons. Performance measurement seeks to
evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing
it to some standard or benchmark. In this method it will help both the
teachers and students to determine things they lack up.

Principle III: Assessment should be more like instruction.

- Giving assessment to the students’ must be understandable and they will

be able to determine how to answer a simple and concrete question with
more like comprehension of a situation. Assessments should be clear.
Evaluations like these can be used in both traditional and project-based
learning classrooms across all content areas. Teachers must understand
what their students know, what they are capable of, and what they still
need to learn. Instructional assessments can provide this information on a
daily basis.

Principle IV: Assessment result needs to be used by teachers to help students

learn better.

- Teachers who create useful assessments, provide corrective instruction,

and give students multiple chances to succeed can improve their
instruction and help students learn. Using the assessment result it will give
encouragement to students who have an average result. The area of
improvement that the student will have to learn will be the weapon they
can review and can be used when the assessment comes. The discussions
that give them the hard time to understand will be slowly understood
because the teacher is able to let his/her students know their lacking or
area of improvement. The result of the assessment will let the teacher and
students if they have improved by reviewing the past assessment that they
have taken and by this, they will able to compare if they have any
progress within the assessment.
Principle V: Assessment is not used to threaten students and intimidate students.

- Enable for the teacher to know the strengths and weaknesses of the
students they need to conduct an evaluation to determine where to
improve and where to teach the student. Assessment is not a measure on
how good you are in some certain things that you are skilled off,
assessment is meant to do know if you understood the lesson that you
have taken. The teacher must remind students ahead of time to avoid
any circumstances which will give the students the time to study and do
scanning of their notes or readings. This will help students to widen and
have the encouragement to prepare all times and see it as a good and
not a threatening one that will let them think that are being tested for their
intelligence. Assessment is to evaluate the students’ understanding and
the things they learn as much as they can understand the lesson.

Principle VI: The teacher should encourage the learning community to engage
in assessment.

- Education is a complex and diverse process providing a quality education

for all children necessitates multi-sectoral strategies that are essential to
overall development and success. Many partners, including education
institutions, teachers, and faculty, must work together to develop
practices and policies that make access to quality education. The
responsibility of the entire society and this will be the way to test the
learning community by let them engaging in the conducted assessment
by the teachers to help them know their areas of improvement. To
achieve this, we must mobilize people's energies to make education a
community-wide concern. We must create conditions and institutional
environments in which people can articulate their educational goals and
contribute to educational development.

Principle VII: Assessment is a technical competency.

- Assessments can be an important part of our efforts to improve

education. However, if we only use them to rank schools and students, we
will miss out on their most powerful benefits. Instead, we must concentrate
on assisting teachers in changing how they use assessment results,
improving the quality of their classroom assessments, and aligning their
assessments with valued learning objectives and state or district
standards. Learning is considered where it remains with the learners long
after an assessment is being presented. The learning competencies that
will be a great contribution for life-long learners and it is also a pre-
requisite skill that can be used in next grade level of the students. This will
help to accommodate the varying contexts of the learners, teachers, and
learning environment. With these the conducted assessment will be a
way to seek for the strengths and weakness of the students’ individually.
