Using the concepts and decision making process that we have discussed, make a case study on

Engr. Estabillo’s problem and state your suggestion on how he should solve his problem.

Problem:

The issue in this instance is the method in which Engineer Estabillo seals designs that he did not

prepare or that he did not thoroughly verify and evaluate. Engineer Estabillo affixes his seal to

papers that he has not thoroughly reviewed or examined due to the size of the company and the

vast number of projects being created at any given moment.

Statement of the Problem:

1. Will he be able to execute his responsibilities successfully if he decides to go forward

with the idea of hiring four full-time civil engineers?

2. Is it necessary for Engineer Estabillo to hire four extra civil engineers on a full time

basis?

Alternatives:

1. Engr. Romeo Estabillo may start by hiring a consultant to help him strategize his concept.

2. Engr. Romeo Estabillo will recruit extra Civil Engineers to meet and satisfy his clients'

demands and desires.

3. Engr. Romeo Estabillo may convene a meeting with his staff to solicit feedback on his

idea.
Proposed Solution:

After analyzing Engineer Romeo Estabillo's position, I propose that he, as the owner of his own

construction firm, first improve his decision making skills in order to make his business more

efficiently operating. As the CEO of a rapidly expanding firm, he should be knowledgeable

enough to determine what action to take in any given situation. Now, Engr. Romeo Estabillo may

first confer with a consultant regarding his idea. His emotions and judgements should not be used

to make business decisions since they will cost him time and money. A business consultant will

also be a fantastic supply of strategized information that will address his internal difficulty.

Recommendation:

Suppose that I am Engr. Romeo Estabillo, and assuming I have reservations about myself, I will

undoubtedly seek the advice of a business expert. Because, in most cases, employing an expert,

such as a consultant, allows a company to save thousands of pesos over recruiting full time

employees. As a business owner, my proposal will be constructively critiqued by a consultant.

Future concepts and processes for my firm will also be offered with the help of a consultant.
