DESCRIPTION

The CONTRACTOR shall adopt the following design criteria as a minimum for this
PROJECT:
4.1 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

All equipment/materials devices and their specified ratings furnished under this
PROJECT shall be suitable for operation as outlined in TES-P-119.02 and 01-TMSS-
01.

4.2 ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS

A. General

1. The 132kV system at TABUK substation is solidly grounded. The entire electrical
system including grounding shall be designed for the short circuit current rating
of the corresponding system voltage circuit breakers/LB Switches. The 132kV
and **kV design parameters shall be in accordance with the requirements
outlined in COMPANY Standard TES-P-119.02 and hereunder:

f) The short circuit rating 132kV circuit breakers/LB Switches and associated

The DRPC shall remain in service (degraded mode operation), with any TCR
out of service, with no other loss in performance than the loss of reactive
power corresponding to the lost TCR. There is no relaxation in the harmonic
performance requirements for the TCR outage. Consequently, at least two

The loss of one branch shall not result in the loss of more than half the DRPC
capacitive or inductive dynamic range. With all TCRs out of operation, the
DRPC shall be able to operate in stepped voltage control mode.

ii. Hybrid DRPC Topology

2. Conventional DRPC/Hybrid DRPC Ratings

All values, definitions and references are referred to: IEEE STD 1031, and in
particular clause 8. The VI diagram specified is identical for DRPC and Hybrid
DRPC and stipulates the minimum requirements, however for the VSC a

operated with maximum droop and maximum reference voltage.

The DRPC and in particular the DRPC transformer overloading

8. Slow Regulation of Reactive Power or Constant MVAr Control

b) This device regulates the operating point (Q: MVAR) of the DRPC to a value
defined by a reference that can be continuously adjusted over the entire
controlled DRPC range. The setting must be within 1% of the rated current or
