Title: Determining the Challenges faced by Teachers During


Online and Modular Learning.

I. Introduction (3 sentences only):

The Philippine education system is currently adjusting to the recent


blended learning model, which is now being used all over the world. This
platform poses a challenge to both teachers and students because it
exposes them to something different. Thus, Online Learning and Modular
Learning Modalities are being utilized by the Department of Education to
continue the learning process during COVID -19 pandemic.

II. Respondents & Environment (3 sentences only):

The respondents of the survey being conducted are Elementary teachers


from the District of Tuburan 1. They are educators from Tominjao
Elementary school and Tuburan Central school handling Grades 1 to 6.
The data was obtained through online communication or chat through
the Messenger App.
III. Results and Discussion (composed of table/s and its discussion):

Table 1 shows the challenges faced by teachers during modular or


online learning. The data shows that the teachers’ common problem or
greatest challenge during the online or modular learning modality is the
Lack of Printing materials or having Scarcity of supplies. Followed by
Technology Literacy, Reliability of students’ answers and Hardship in
relaying lesson. This indicates that these challenges absolutely affects the
teaching and learning process. This emphasizes that teachers as well as
the learners are affected by the sudden transition from face to face
classes to modular or online learning. Moreover, based on the table
above, it can be seen that delayed submission of modules or activities by
the students results to the disruption and delay to teacher’s schedule in
checking the modules as it consumes time in checking all the outputs of
the students and minimizes their productivity.

Teachers face different challenges in the implementation of Modular


Distance Learning Modality by the Department of Education, they strive
to overcome such challenges through different approaches. In overcoming
these challenges, as teachers, they need to embrace the reality brought
by this new normal style of education. And do the necessary tasks and
remain positive at all times.
