PRO 600 STRATEGIC FINANCIAL PUBLIC RELATIONS

Individual Assignments (30%) – Deadline: Week 10

Student needs to write a report and find information on these particular areas;

1. Identify one company or organization, which has Investor Relations Department. Do a simple
infographic about the company.

a. History.
b. List the objective, mission, and vision of the company.
c. Background of the company.
d. Organization Chart. (The Board of Director & Management Team)
e. Nature of business/work.

2. Find the respective department of the company that handles investment.


a) Identify the Nomenclature. (The name used for department that handle investor
relations)
b) List the objective, mission and vision of the department (if any)
c) Find the details of Investor Relations Department. Get the Department Organization
Chart and its directory (if any);

• Their Designation:
d) List the main activities of the department.

3. Monitor, identify and analyze the company financial information (news) on its social media;

a) List the account name of its social media


FB/IG/Twitter/Blog/YouTube/Telegram Channel/WhatsApp (if applicable)
b) State the main impressions of each of its social media up to 5th November 2021
History (tweet/FB/IG since…) number of followers, following, likes, shares, Bio, Profile

Reflection Paper (Industry Sharing Session - 10%) – Deadline: Week 13

During the investor relations part 2 class. Then write a 800-word of reflection paper from the industry
sharing session. Report should consist

1. Introduction about speaker

2. Content (at least FIVE key points from the talk): ideas shared by speaker. Add with relevant
citation to support your answers.

3. Conclusion: What are the benefits that you have gotten from the talk and how the talk has
helped you understand more about strategic financial public relations.

4. References: 3-5 citation


Group Assignment: 40% - Deadline: Week 14

Student needs to write a report and find information on these particular areas;

1. Identify one real organization through an article in the EDGE or The Edge-CEO Morning Brief. A
sample of an article is given here. Then identify some background information of that company:

a) Establishment history
b) List the objective, mission and vision of the company.
c) Describe their publics and financial publics profiles
d) Describe their products and services
e) Describe their shares/stock portfolio

2. Prepare a role play /video of 20minutes in total, acting out an interview earnings. An example that
you can use is the Netflix Quarterly Earnings interview (You can search in YouTube). All your members
have to portray a role in that 20mins video. It can be acted out live during the presentation day or pre-
recorded. The content can be any of the following or all. You discuss, analyse the information and
decide which will be the information that you will highlight. The main objective is to engage your financial
publics with appropriate and strategic information.

a) Identify the issues that they are facing


b) Propose an IR program that you are planning
c) Describe the activities that your company had done
d) Explain your quarterly earnings
e) Focus on a Merger and Acquisition activity
f) Highlight some of your upcoming plans.

The report needs to explain the content of your video but there will be more information in the report
rather than in the video. In the report you can elaborate on the matters but in the video you cannot be
too lengthy. For example, in the report you write all the information for 1a until 1e. In the video you
cannot read all that you have written in 1a-1e, you can give me the gist of the content. If you have a
corporate video, you can show that corporate video to show the background of the company.

Report: Word limit: 1500-2000max Font: Times New Roman Font size: 11

Presentation: 20mins
Presentation slides (to be incorporated in the role play/video): Summarize the gist of the whole report.

Report Due and presentation day: Week 14

Final test – (20%)

A take home test.
