2. Comprehend the meaning of each paragraph
3. Explain the central theme of the chapter.
4. Relate with the story.
5. Summarize the chapter.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE-
Pupil teacher will ask a few questions to the students to know their previous understanding
of the chapter:

1. Have you ever read a story before in which the narrator was finding something in the
past?
2. Have you ever seen a cartoon before in which a dog was a detective?

3. Do you know who was Sherlock Holmes? And what his stories were all about?

4. What do you find the most interesting thing in this chapter about Sherlock Holmes
yet in this story?

INTRODUCTORY QUESTIONS-
Pupil teacher will ask the following questions from the students
1. What do you understand by the term “detective”?
2. What does investigation mean?
3. Why usually dogs are used for investigating?
4. What is Sherlock Holmes popular and known for?

STATEMENT OF TOPIC-
Pupil teacher will announce the topic “Expert detective” written by Sharada Dwivedi.
