CHAPTER I
Introduction

We now live in a very limited environment considering the global pandemic we are
experiencing. Despite this, we are to pursue our proposed small business which we named
Frooty Balls. By the name itself, we are selling our own version of the well-known Filipino
dessert called graham balls. We came up with this idea with the thought that we could
satisfy people with sweet tooth. This may sound like we’re neglecting its side effects to our
health so we decided we should add a fruit as our second main ingredient to balance its
nutritional facts.

Problem Statement

Filipinos are really used to having dessert after meal in every salo-salo. But since we’re
not allowed to have social gatherings, through the use of technology and other modern
devices, we are able to still buy the things we need and want. These treats are popular not
just during the holidays but all year round, loved by young and old. It’s also perfect for your
family’s birthdays, or a snack on a movie night with your friends. Might as well send it to
someone you miss. They’d love our graham balls; they would feel your thoughtfulness as if
you were with them.

We really wanted our product to be Pinoy as much as possible but we also want to offer
something new to the market. We ought to sell this unique, mouthwatering dessert to fill
our target customers with their heart’s content in a way that we are also able to gain profit
and to showcase our passion and creativity. In view of the fact that they love sweets, our
target customers are mostly young students. Many of them might also experience stress
because of the pandemic which stimulates our bodies to eat even when we’re not hungry, or
the other way around, which may also lead to stress eating. But with our product, we give
you a sweet but nutritious treat. Generally, everyone must try our product.

USP and VP

Our business will offer graham balls that has fruits as its second main ingredient unlike
other graham balls. We provide our customers an affordable treat that could be your desert
or even your pasalubong. Our target market are the youngsters for they are most likely to
have sweet toot.

CHAPTER II

Demand and Supply Forecast

The Frooty Graham balls features the fruity filling on the inside which gives good health
benefits to our customers. Our target customers are those who are craving for
sweets/sweet-tooths and people who are a fan of desserts like graham balls. When it comes
to the number of our target customers, we aim to have at least 50 customers a day and 400-
500 Frooty balls to be produced. We aim to promote affordability of our product depending
on our customer’s capacity to buy and also how much we spent.

The Product Description

Our product, Frooty Graham balls is not the usual graham balls you’ve tasted. We
wanted to focus more on providing a health benefit to our main ingredient, which are
crackers. We came up with this unique idea to balance the nutri could give. Our product has
fruits on the inside instead of marshmallows like all the other graham balls so it wouldn’t be
too sweet which will give a taste that will satisfy our customers.

Competitors Analysis

Table1. We do not have many competitors since we haven’t seen anyone selling
graham balls yet but we are considering stores that sell cakes, cake pops and donuts as our
competitors.

 Mister Donut
 7- Eleven
 Dagupan bakeshop
 Emilia’s bakeshop

Table2.

We think that Mister Donut is our number one competitor because, by the name itself,
donuts are their main product. Donuts and graham balls aren’t similar but they could be our
competitors because they are both desserts and can be bite sized. 7-eleven, Emilia’s
bakeshop and Dagupan bakeshop could also be our rivals because they are offer donuts,
desserts and other pastries the can be an alternative for Graham balls.

Table3.

Since our products are food, this can be consumed by anyone. Our competitors’
customers are usually working adults in any occupation because the average selling prices of
these products are ranging from 25-400 pesos or more. These types of product are
consumed by both male and female so we assume that our competitors’ customers are not
gender specific. Most flyers are promoting bundles and promos.

Table4.

Their products are not limited to just cakes and donuts. They are selling more foods
that they can offer to the market. Some bakeshops are also offering customized pastries for
holidays or special occasions like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Birthdays etc. Some of
them are also offering promos like buy one take one and bundles.

Table5.

They distribute flyers, posters and brochures which are nicely printed in bond papers,
and glossy papers. They provide enough information about what they are selling and the
content and design are very persuasive. 7-eleven is using Facebook as its platform. They
have at least 1.9k followers. Not many are reacting and sharing their posts. Emilia’s
bakeshop also has its own Facebook account. They have at least 757 followers, but do not
get many reactions and shares from their posts as well.

Table6.

The things that make our competitors unique is that their products are the content and
the ingredients of each pastry they are making. Cakes, cake pops and donuts are also more
common in special occasions compared to our product, graham balls. The reason why
customers buy from them is that the quality of their products is really good and they also
have good brand image to most customers. They are also using social media to promote
their business so it is also has good impact to promoting their business. some of them have
already spent 8-10 years in business, while some has just started which could also make it
difficult for us to compete with them but with courage and precision, we can grab our
customers too. Their stores are very accessible which is located near the road where
customers can see and could attract them to buy. Each of them have one store and 5-10
staffs. Like most, they operate Mondays to Saturdays from 7am – 9am.

Table7.

Our competitors aren’t limited to just one product but they are also offering other
pastries, foods and drinks that they are able to do and sell to the market. They have their
own unique way of producing and promoting their products to the market which
compliments each of their customer’s taste. They do not use any other social media
accounts and websites which could also be beneficial if you want your product to be known
in many more places. As we have said earlier, their products could be really expensive but
our product is as cheap as 5 pesos.

Having experience in the market is truly beneficial because you already know how to
manage your customers. Our competitors have probably understood what their customers
want by now. Moreover, our competitors offer various kinds of products which may also
benefit them because the customers wouldn’t have to look for another store to buy a
different type of food. They are able to get many customers because they have good
location and good customer services. These are just some of their strengths that we find
hard to catch up with because we don’t have much experience yet but it’s always worth the
risk. As to their limitations, we would take it as an opportunity for our success.
CHAPTER IV

1. PRODUCT
In our business we offer the sweetest and unique graham balls. Our product has a
different flavor compared to other graham balls you’ve encountered because we have
ingredients that makes it unique. The graham balls that we offer has fruits that give nutrition
to the customers, we also make it attractive using different toppings like dark chocolate and
sprinkles.

2. PRICE
As to our pricing, we will offer discounts and gifts to people who will buy in boxes or to
loyal customers but also meeting our expenses.

3. PLACE
We will have our own store or kiosk near TCNHS since our target customers are mostly
youngsters, and offer different types of grahams mixed with fruits like shakes and cakes but
our main product are still graham balls. In this way we could get more customer. We will
also make our own social media page where we can sell to other people outside Dagupan.
We are offering deliveries for easier transactions.

4. PROMOTION
Since we will sell it online our strategy is to promote our product also through our
social media pages. One of us in our group will post it on Facebook and share it to our
friends and let them know about our product. We will also ask our young customers, since
they are the most people on social media, to post and share their thoughts about our
product and share it to their Facebook friends and family. Aside from posting it, we will also
create a Group Chat with those people near us just in case they want to order. Our way in
promoting our product is through social media because they can easily order just by sending
us a message.

5. PACKAGING
We will pack our products depending on how many they will buy. Our products come in
boxes which are very handy and in sticks wrapped in a plastic wrapper. We will also put
stickers of our logo which we customized to promote brand image. We will make it as
attractive and unique as possible.
6. PROCESS
We offer products that are freshly made and delivered to our customers. We will also
show them how our products are made through our social media pages.

7. PEOPLE
Our employees will maintain proper hygiene in making our product for our customer's
safety. Our employees are very accommodating and easy to approach, which can help
customers if they'd have questions about our business. They are very optimistic and are also
practicing good manners to promote customer loyalty.
