Software development lifecycle (SDLC) is a process used by the software industry to
design, develop and test high quality software.
We can also say that it is a conceptual model which includes policies and procedures for
developing systems throughout their lifecycle.

• Stages of Software development lifecycle


Different scholars have come up with different stages or phases of SDLC. We are going to
look at five stages of SDLC and these are:

1. Planning or feasibility study


▪ This is where you define the problem and scope of existing system. For you to
come up with a new system that means they is an old system. You define what
you want to achieve.
▪ You overview the new system and determine its objectives. You see the
overview of the new system and determine its objectives, that’s what you want
