Turner Lesson Plan 2 Screw Thread

This lesson plan outlines a 40-minute module on screw threads. The objectives are for trainees to define screw threads, explain their elements, state their uses, and care/maintenance. Teaching aids include a whiteboard, marker, chart, and objects. Threads are important for assembling parts, power transmission, lifting loads, and precision movement. Key elements of threads discussed are crest, root, flank, thread angle, depth, major/minor diameters, pitch, and helix angle. Threads are used to fasten parts, transmit motion, make measurements, apply pressure, and lift loads. Proper care includes using the same pitch for assembly, avoiding over-tightening, applying oil when idle, and not
