CHAPTER I

Introduction

Nowadays, there are numerous food options available when walking through the
streets or cities. Most people who buy foods on the street or in stores see people
walking by or have somewhere to go but need a quick snack, that might be affecting
our health. When people are in a hurrying buy food and drinks separately and at the
same time carry other things while on their way is such a hassle so they need to make
time and have a meal on the table, on a point of view of a busy people this will be
such a hassle, carrying their belongings as well as their food and drinks, and go to
work or school will be difficult. For Da Eat & Co. is here to end the struggle. It's a
handy cup with food on top and drinks on the bottom. This isn't just any snack; it's a
meal that will leave you feeling satisfied. Having this type of food on hand will be
extremely beneficial because it is easy to transport and consume.

Background of the study

Life is not possible without food. Due to its nature, the food service business, which
deals with the preparation of food products, is and will always be in great demand,
particularly in the Philippines. In addition, Filipinos enjoy eating. People are very
outgoing and friendly, so food plays a large part in our social lives. Food carts have
been in the regions of in the Philippines for quite some time. These quick food
vendors have filled many hungry bellies on the go, from the neighbor's fish ball, kwek
kwek, kikiam carts. The food stall started out as a successful franchise, or somewhat
of a business trend. While the majority of them continue to provide bland meals, a
new generation of stalls is now in style. We came up to this kind of study to have our
own franchising business of our own product and we call it “For Da Eat”.

For sure some of the students or busy people are having a hard time carrying their
belongings or their food and drink at the same time, resulting that they can’t eat on
time because of their busy schedules. But with the help of our product consumers can
put that struggle to an end with the aid of For Da Eat. Since many students or even
other customer are love street foods, it’s a kind of meal that can fill your empty
stomach which is Verdura Rice Fan and Fried Rice along with our healthy drinks in a
carry-all cup.

Franchising is a popular way to expand a business. Franchisees always want more

autonomy to run their businesses, but the franchisor does not want to give the
franchisee more autonomy because they believes that if they give the franchisee more
autonomy, the franchisee will compromise on quality to save money, which will harm
the reputation of the franchisor's entire franchise system. On the other hand, if the
franchisor gives the franchisee less autonomy, this may result in dissatisfied
franchisees. (Sharma & Kaur, 2019). So it must be balance and have a comprehensive
documentation on the business. It will be better step to make to have a franchise
business especially if the business offers a food.

Description of the Product

your food and drink don't mix. For a Eat aims to connect with customers, make them

Review of the Related Literature

The Review of Related Literature presents the related literature and studies after the
thorough and in-depth search done by the researchers. This includes reading and
studying literature from a variety of sources, including books, journals, websites,
theses, and dissertations.

Local Literature

Effectiveness of Food Stall Establishment

According (Hingco, 2018)to Food stall is referred to as the standard manner of

launching a food business, because it just requires a minimal amount of capital that
many people can afford to invest, It is typically found outside of schools, shopping
centers, railroad terminals, and even on sidewalks. Although opening a food stand is
not as difficult as first thought, there are many factors to think about, such as the
intended location, which is why a feasibility study is being done. It will learn what the
local needs and desires of the target customer are in this way. An entrepreneur cannot
just start a business and run with it; they need to have a strategy that outlines the steps
they will take, the type of business they are starting, and their goals. These will
guarantee the establishment of the business's success because all factors are
anticipated, and the challenges are identified so that solutions can be made in time.

Franchise as a good business venture

According to (Remuel A. Casabuena1, 2017) recommending franchise as a good

business venture for it is a trend in the city, can operate in long years, and has a high
probability of returning a franchisee‟ investment. The researchers recommend that
when, planning in entering a franchise business, one must have the sufficient capital
needed to operate the franchise and study the background first of the franchise they
will engage into for them to be prepared for the consequences.

Foreign Literature

Nutritional meal intake value

According to (Lee, Moore, Park, Harris, & Black, 2022) In 2019, fruit and vegetable
intake among U.S. adults remained low, with only approximately one in 10 adults
meeting either recommendation; differences were found by state, age, sex,
race/ethnicity, and household income. Consistent with previous analyses of BRFSS
data (4,5), a higher percentage of women than men met recommendations for fruit and
vegetable intake, and larger disparities were observed in vegetable intake than fruit
intake by age groups and household income.

According to (Ogden, et al., 2018)Eating behavior is influenced by both cognitions

and triggers in the environment. The potential difference between a ‘snack’ and a
‘meal’ illustrates these factors and the way in which they interact, particularly in
terms of the label used to describe food and the way it is presented.

According to (Bernardo, Jomori, Fernandes, & Proenca, 2017) University students’

food intake was characterized as unhealthy, regardless of undergraduate program or
sex, especially among students who left the parents’ home and became responsible for
their own food. Therefore, there is a need of developing public policies that promote
healthy eating habits among students, such as interventions to change their eating
habits and increase their access to healthy foods at the university environment.

According to (Momentous Institute, 2018) Nutrition also plays a large part in school
performance. Children who have diets lacking in fruits, vegetables, and healthy
proteins tend to have lower test scores than their peers, and hunger can lead to
children missing school or having to repeat grades.

Having fruit juices in the market

According to (SANTOS, 2017) Industries have invested in the development of new

products with these characteristics in order to please more consumers, and marketing
strategies for media coverage have been used to influence consumer choices. Within
the context of this global trend, consumers have sought more practical beverage
alternatives that take into account more than just taste and innovation.

Franchising Food and Beverages

According to (Abd Aziz, et al., 2021) successful product differentiation demands for
them to identify and deliver the qualities of a product or brand while highlighting the
differences. Moreover, product differentiation goes hand in hand with developing
strong value propositions to allow their products or services to become attractive in
the global target markets.

Franchisor and Franchisee Relationships

According to (Sharma & Kaur, 2019) the relationship of franchisor and franchisee, the
franchisor relies heavily on the franchisee for the financial information and
information of the consumers to access local markets, and the franchisees are
dependent on the trademarks and know-how and other support of the franchisors.

Buyer-Supplier Relationships

According to (Tarigan, 2020) A positive influence of buyer and supplier relationships

are based on supplier trust. Relationships between suppliers and buyers directly
improve supplier innovation. Supplier success in Surabaya's death services company
is directly influenced by supplier innovation, buyer supplier relationships, and
supplier trust. This study adds fresh perspective to the ongoing supply chain
management research. This work suggests that a management can raise the
performance of a supplier.

Research Methodology

Research Design

The researchers will use the Quantitative and Qualitative research means a process of
collecting as well analyzing numerical and non-numerical data. This design will help
the business to remove the biases or incorrect data from the research and make the
findings more accurate. The researchers believes that the Quantitative and Qualitative
method will provide solid evidence to guide management, marketing, and decision on
production.

Sampling Participant

The researcher will use convenience sampling. This method is dependent on the ease
of access to subject such as surveying customer at a mall, passers – by on busy street.
The chosen participant are those who interested or love a meal product.

Instrumentation

The researcher will use Google Forms to conduct online survey questionnaires. The
questionnaires will include the comprehensive product information. It will be used to
determine the potential target market and to be more precise in the forecasting and the
possible consumer viewpoint.

Data collection

The convenience technique was chosen as the sampling method for this study by the
researcher. It would be appropriate to ask potential participants who they know who
might fit the researcher's profile. Google's online survey form will be used to collect
data and conduct the study as a data collection strategy. The researchers chose this
method of distribution for the survey questionnaire because it is one of the safest and
fastest way to collect data. The researchers will conduct a survey of a readily
available element that is either nearby or willing to participate, after which the
researcher will compile all the collected data, analyze it, and forecast whether the
respondents will be suitable in the target market.

Data analysis

The gathered data will be interpreted using statistical analysis, with the results
highlighting For Da Eat's potential target market. Following that, the researchers will
be able to determine who the product's potential target market is, which will allow the
company to better plan the latter's
CHAPTER II
