I. FIND THE MEANING OF QUALITIES OF A GOOD REPORT


1. Clarity-   A police report is an objective accounting of the relevant and observed facts of the
case, and any conclusions made by the reporting officer must be supported by articulated
and documented facts.   Unsubstantiated opinions or conclusions are never to be included in
an effective report

3. Completeness- . A complete report will contain all the relevant facts, information, and
details that the reader will need to have in order to have a comprehensive understanding of
the crime or incident described in the report.  The report is complete when it is a complete
word picture of the incident, there are no questions left unanswered by the reader, officer
actions are explained and justified by the contents of the report, and both supporting and
4. Brevity- Brevity is shortness in duration and or conciseness of expression in a speech or a
written text . Contrast with verbosity. Brevity is generally considered a stylistic virtue as long
as its not achieved at the expense of clarity.
5. Fairness-is the quality of making judgement that are free from discrimination .
6. Specificity- Reports should be brief but also contain all relevant information necessary for a
complete understanding of the crime or incident, without additional explanation.   Brevity
should never take precedence over accuracy, completeness, or clarity in report writing.

(PARRICIDE): One Benilda Panganiban y Romero, 26 years old, single, of Rincon, Valenzuela City,
appeared this station and reported that her nephew named RODOLFO PANGANIBAN II (Junjun) was
allegedly killed by his own mother named VANESSA PANGANIBAN y SANTOS, on or about 6:00 p.m. on
23 December 2018.

Entry Nr. 01-1137/24 Dec 18/9:10AM: Person of BENILDA PANGANIBAN y ROMERO appeared
this office and reported that the suspect who killed her nephew Junjun was VANESSA PANGANIBAN y
SANTOS.

09- 1141/24 Dec 2018/10:00AM: (RE: 091135): Initial investigation conducted by this station at
the place of incident disclosed that JUNJUN is killed inside his residence by strangulation by his own
mother. Incident occurred on or about 6:00PM on 23 December 2018.

Valenzuela City, Philippines, 24 December 2018.
