Instructions

1) Put the airplane mode on your Android device. This step is necessary so that
the app is not updated during the process in addition to avoiding calls during
the firmware downgrade.

2) Connect your Android device to your computer and put it in file transfer mode.

3) Uninstall E-tube app if you have installed, download E-tube 5.0.2 app from
this link, send to your device and install. Open the E-tube app and check that
it connects with the bike.

4) Using your computer, enter the following folder on your Android device and
delete all the files that are inside that directory.
Android/data/com.shimano.etubeprojectmobile.droid.phone/files/FW

5) Download the appropriate firmware for your motor from the links above and
copy the unzipped files to the directory indicated in the previous section.
Disconnect your Android from the computer.

6) The bluetooth receiver is on the screen of your bike. Keep the phone still as
close to the screen as possible during the update. Do not move your mobile
device, do not close the app while it is updating and do not do anything else
with your Android device.

7) Open the E-tube app. Connect to the bike with E-tube. It will ask you to
update the firmware, update it. It will indicate that you are updating to a
higher version, but you are updating to the firmware file that you have
downloaded.

8) Once the process is complete, delete the files you copied to your mobile
device (optional) and turn off airplane mode. Now you can use eTuning app to
adjust the parameters.

9) Optional and not recommended: Once you have modified the desired
parameters you can install the new firmware. The parameters are preserved,
but you cannot modify them if you don't downgrade again.

If you have some problem in the downgrade, check FAQ section in this document

A) You can modify the maximum speed of each mode, eco trail and boost. The
correct speed is displayed on the speedometer.

B) You can modify the wheel diameter to exceed the maximum speed but the
speedometer indicates the wrong speed. You can also modify the region of the bike
to the USA to have 32 km/h with the speedometer working correctly.

C)You can modify the assistance, torque and power settings of all modes among
other settings.
FaQ

If I update the firmware, are the modified settings reset with the new firmware?

No. Region and wheel diameter values are not reset when updating firmware.

Why in step 7 the E-Tube app does not indicate that there is an update available?

It may be due to one of these reasons:

1) You have not unzipped the files. You have to put in the “FW” folder the .dat files.
Not the compressed file.

2) You have downloaded the files for other motor.

3) You are using wrong version of E-tube, you must use E-tube 5.0.2

After doing the downgrade, E035 or another error has appeared on the bike.

This is because components of your bike or some configuration of your bike is not
compatible with that firmware.

While you have the error, change the settings you want to change with eTuning, such
as the wheel circumference or the region. Update the motor firmware with E-tube to
the latest firmware (for this you have to delete all the files in the FW folder and
update normally with E-tube). That way you will get the error to disappear, you will
have the bike unrestricted and with the latest firmware.

Disclaimer: If the objective of downgrading is to be able to walk more than 25 km/h,

check the laws of your country first. You may only be able to ride your bike in private
areas.
