METHOD STATEMENT FOR SCREED CONCTRETE


INTRODUCTION

This document desc ribes the Work Methodology to Carryout screed concrete work in Metro deck area at North
Delhi Metro Mall Project, New Delhi in a Planned & Controlled Manner with Reference to the Product
Specification, Standards and Drawings.

1. MATERIALS

The following Materials or its Equivalent to be used for Screed work:

A) OPC-53 Grade & Coarse Sand confirming to IS


B) Portable or Suitable Water for Construction.
C) M10(1:3:6) Concrete as per approved design mix by the RMC vendor.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES

A) SITE INCHARGE- Shall Report to Project Manager shall be Responsible for Control,
Supervision & Direction for Implementation of this Procedure.
B) SITE ENGINEER – Shall report to Site In-Charge; shall carry out the work as per the Drawing &
Specification and make sure all the required Tests & Checks are done.
C) QA/QC ENGINEER Shall Report to QA/QC In-charge; QC Engineer shall Assist in
Carrying out Field/Lab Test; shall conduct Audit/Observation of the work done and
Inform Site Engineer about the Non-Compliances when Found.

4. WORK METHODOLOGY

 EQUIPMENTS / TOOLS

Mainly the following Tools &Equipment to be used as per Requirements while working:

o Plumb bob & Right Angle


o Trowel
o Mortar Pan
o Pan/Tray for keeping Mixed Mortar
o Water Drums/Containers
o Other Small Tools as per Requirements for convenience
o Concrete Vibrator

PRIOR TO WORK START

o Approved design mix before execution.

o Fixing the level as per the approved shop dwgs for pouring the concrete.
o Pump to be fixed with proper clamps to ensure without any choke.

5. QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTROL

 MATERIALS
o Design mix shall be approved before Start to Work.
o Product Information Sheet is to be attached .
o Any Improvement in Methodology shall be reviewed.
6. SAFETY
 The Area where M10 Concrete screed work to be undertaken must be cordoned" and clearly sign
posted to establish a restricted area
 Other Safety A rrangements-As per Submitted Safety Plan.
 All Personnel to be fully adhered to PPE’s.

STE PWISE PROCEDURE TO CAR R Y Screed Work


 Surface will be cleaned thoroughly.
 Existing slab top levels will be taken.
 Top level of the screed concrete will be fixed with necessary button masses.
 Required Sub Surface drainage pipes will be provided as mentioned in the drawing.
 The M10 concrete as approved by QA of PMC will be poured through compressor pump and the same will be
compacted with the Electric vibrator up to required compaction.
 Then, the concrete will be leveled with neat and complete as per required finish.
 Up to 50Cu.m of the concrete 6no’s of the cubes will be taken, and the same will be tested and submit
the results with required curing.
 All the poured concrete curing will be done.
 The entire top will be showed to respective in charge post concrete.
