The curriculum reflects its time. This Oliva principle is mirrored in the lesson plan in such a way that the topic is
current and pertinent, assisting students in staying current and developing ideas that are practical and timely.
4. If you were to improve the design, what will you add, or subtract or modify? Write your re-design suggestion.
If I were to change the design, I would include a few citations from books, modules, or other publications. I'll include
more exercises that concentrate on the subject. Additionally, I would include technology into the activities to make
them more interactive.
5. Provide answers to incomplete sentences. This lesson on fundamentals of curriculum designing or crafting a
curriculum,
5.1 I realize that
The curriculum's role in educating students is a dynamic process that aims to keep up with societal changes.
The educators will be better able to meet the demands of the students if they are aware of the classic and
modern concepts in curriculum as well as the elements that influence their growth. The development of
curricula and learning experiences that serve specific objectives is an integral component of the teacher's
profession. Additionally, they create evaluations to identify students' needs, inform their instruction, and
assess whether objectives have been met. Whether or not they were able to meet certain goals for their
students will determine whether or not their plans were successful.
1. What kind of curriculum design influence mostly the K to 12 Curriculum? (A) Subject-Centered? (B) Learner-
Centered (C) Problem-Centered? (You may have more than one answer.)
2. Cite an illustrative example that relates to your choice.
3. Place your answer on a matrix like the one below.
Learner-Centered Design/Approach The lessons and exercises cover a variety of topics, such
as being clear about how you will encourage, evaluate,
and celebrate understanding; modeling "how to think"
for students; assisting them in understanding what is
important to understand; diversifying the types of
evidence you accept as proof of understanding; designing
instruction and curriculum around a need to know;
working with students to develop the rubric or scoring
guide; and many others. After the partnership is finished,
each student will reach a unique conclusion. Learning
exercises should have a practical application so that
students may relate what they are learning to
themselves.
Problem--Centered Design/Approach
1. Reflect on the process of curriculum mapping and the sample curriculum map in this lesson. As a future teacher,
how will the process of mapping and the map as a tool help you in your profession.
As a future teacher, the curriculum mapping process and the map as a tool support my profession by acting as a guide
for implementing the curriculum in an orderly manner. Having a guide makes it easier to concentrate solely on the
topic's goals and to expound on those goals. Without a guide, you can't teach with any direction because you have no
set objectives. Furthermore, it helps teachers design, edit, and search lessons based on the needs of individual
students and their abilities. To advance your target or goal for the learning you wish to apply for the learner and also
to balance their learning needs based on a specific time, use the data you collect.
