CHAPTER ASSESSMENT Module 5 Lessons 1 To 3

This document discusses curriculum evaluation from the perspective of a student. It includes reflections on curricula the student experienced from school up to the present. The student wonders if what they have learned will still be relevant in the future. They think it will be relevant because concepts are updated over time but remain focused on preparing students for the future. The document also provides examples of test questions that could evaluate different levels of learning and discusses how periodic testing can reflect curriculum evaluation by assessing student understanding and the effectiveness of teaching methods. It reflects on how planning, implementing, and evaluating are important parts of a teacher's job and can improve teaching practice.

CHAPTER ASSESSMENT: MODULE 5 – CURRICULUM EVALUATION AND THE TEACHER

LESSON 1: What, Why and How to Evaluate a Curriculum

Reflect on your current and past experiences on the different curricula you went through from the time you entered
school up to the present.

Pause for some moments and read the “I wonder if…” incomplete sentences. Based on your reflection, choose one
number and write your answer on the box provided then based on your response on “I wonder if…”, complete the
sentence, “I think…”

I wonder if…

my teachers have reviewed the textbooks we used in High School.

The instructional materials we are using now will not be used in the future.

What I have learned now still be relevant in the future.

Evaluation of a curriculum will still be a task of a teacher.

There is really a need to evaluate the curriculum.

Please write your answer in the box.

I wonder if what I have learned now is still be relevant in the future.

I think yes what I have learned now is still be relevant in the future, because everything that is taught in school is
meant for the student to learn and apply in the future. Although the curriculum may change, two different concepts
remain. It was simply updated to accommodate the new generation and the new environment, which is more
technologically advanced than the traditional. Like a student's lifetime goal of mastering the language, which
improves our abilities in conversation with others and socializing, particularly when we are about to put our research
efforts to work to achieve our goal. The individuals who design the curriculum constantly ensure that all of
the students must accomplish is important and possess the students a brighter future and success in their respective
areas of knowledge.

LESSON 2: Curriculum Evaluation Through Learning Assessment

Give three test items that are appropriate for each level of learning outcomes. You can choose the type of test.

Knowledge

Does the result of a periodical test reflect evaluation of a curriculum? Why?

Yes, the results of periodic test do influence how well a curriculum in terms of the ability to reevaluate its
effectiveness on the performance of the students. Periodic assessment is used to assess not only the students'
understanding but also the school's curriculum. If all of the students were covered by the teacher's tactics for
delivering the curriculum, they resulted in the intended learning outcome that the institution wishes to see.

LESSON 3: Planning, Implementing and Evaluating: Understanding the Connection

Reflect: Is the teacher’s life a series of planning, implementing, and evaluating? Will this improve teaching? Why?

Being a student that all of my teachers consistently prepare ahead of time what all of their students would be taught.
They intend to avoid all students experience confusion and commotion during the school days starting.  I can confirm
that the idea that a teacher's life consists of a sequence of preparing, carrying out, and assessing. Planning first,
teachers prepared beforehand to ensure that the process of teaching and learning would benefit all of the students.
This strategy is carried out to know if the plan is effective. And assessment and implementation are compatible  for the
assurance that if the strategy can be applied effectively, it will keep applying. YES, planning, implementing and
evaluating improve teaching, because by performing these steps, the teacher can improve their knowledge and
qualities needed to accomplish their job successfully. They benefit as they do it. Gaining knowledge and experience
that will improve their ability to educate In their profession.
