Details of Entrance Test and Counseling for
Pharmacy - Diploma, Undergraduate &
Postgraduate admission to Pharmacy Courses for
the academic year – 2022-23
IMPORTANT: • Please note that the candidates who are eligible for admission to Diploma,
Undergraduate & Postgraduate pharmacy courses for academic year
- 2022, will have to register online at JSS Academy of Higher Education &
Research, Mysuru (Formerly Known as JSS University)
(http://www.jssuni.edu.in).

• The applicants are required to read the instructions brochure thoroughly


before making the online registration / online payment and adhere to the rules
and procedures strictly.
• Online registration and online submission of applications can be accessed from
03.03.2022 from JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru
website. (http://www.jssuni.edu.in).
• Online registration and online submission of applications will be closed at
23:59hrs on 14.07.2022 for UG courses and 05.08.2022 for PG courses.

• Candidates have to take the printout of the application form on A-4 Size sheet
of paper. The same should be produced during document verification at the
time of Entrance test, counseling and admission along with originals as per
schedule announced in the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research,
Mysuru website. (http://www.jssuni.edu.in).
• The prescribed application fee should be remitted through payment gateway
provided, using a debit card (issued by a bank in India) OR a credit card OR
through internet banking. There is no provision for Offline payment.
• Before filling application form, please scan and store all the Documents,
latest Photograph and Signature as separate files in JPG/PDF format only.
The same needs to be uploaded as required during the ‘On-line Application’
process.
NOTE: The instructions are based on the existing selection rules. Amendments made
by Government of India/PCI/AICTE/ JSS Academy of Higher Education &
Research from time to time and any other law that will be in force at the
appropriate stage will apply.

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, Karnataka (Formerly
known as Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University (JSSU)), is a Deemed to be

M.Pharm-Ph.D Integrated Program:
The Candidates enrolled for M. Pharm can pursue Ph. D program after the completion of
M. Pharm without losing time. The selected candidates can choose the topic relevant to
the PG program which can be potentially continued for Doctoral studies.

Drugs Testing Laboratory (DTL):

The institution has approved Drug Testing Laboratory recognized by Drugs Control
Department, Govt. of Karnataka, to carryout out tests on Drugs / Cosmetics sent from
academics or pharmaceutical institutions it is also accredited by NABH.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The process of online registration & submission of online application form and
Instruction:
1. Candidates are advised to read the Instructions carefully before starting “online
registration and filling of online application form” and ensure that no column is left
blank.
2. Candidates have to provide all the information required for each entry during filling of
online application.
3. Candidates can register for admission to Diploma, Undergraduate & Postgraduate
Pharmacy Programs only through “Online”.
4. Before filling application form, please scan and store all the Documents, latest
Photograph and Signature as separate files in JPG format only. The same needs to be
uploaded as required during the ‘On-line Application’ process.
5. Information Bulletin is available on website and the same can be downloaded from the
website: www.jssuni.edu.in
6. Registration and submission of online application form may be made by accessing JSS

Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru website: www.jssuni.edu.in and


Instructions for Online submission of Application Form are available in the Information
Bulletin.
7. Online registration and online submission of applications can be accessed from
03.03.2022 from JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. website:
www.jssuni.edu.in.
8. Online registration and online submission of applications will be closed at 23:59 hrs. On
14.07.2022 for UG courses and 05.08.2022 for PG courses.
9. The prescribed application / registration fee should be remitted through payment
gateway provided using a credit card OR a debit card issued by a bank in India OR
through internet banking. There is no provision for Offline payment.
10. Candidates should take the printout of the application form on A-4 Size sheet of paper.
Affix the original passport size photo and the same should be produced during document
verification at the time of entrance test/ counseling / admission process along with
originals as per schedule announced in the JSS Academy of Higher Education &
Research, Mysuru website: www.jssuni.edu.in
11. Candidates are requested NOT TO SEND PRINT OUT of the online application
and any other document to the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, office.

12. Selection will be made on the merit based on marks secured in Qualifying
examinations in relevant subjects conducted by various Universities and an
entrance examination.
13. The syllabus for entrance test for admission to D. Pharm, B. Pharm and Pharm
D and program will be at level of 10+2 / PUC examination in the subjects Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
14. The syllabus for entrance test for admission to M. Pharm & Pharm D (Post
Baccalaureate) course will be on the basis of questions at III year and Final year
of B. Pharm course.

15. Admission of selected students to the various courses is announced during


counseling session.

Instruction to the candidate:
Candidates will be admitted to D. Pharm, B. Pharm, B. Pharm practice, Pharm D,
Pharm D. (Post Baccalaureate) and M. Pharm, courses in the constituent college of JSS
Academy of Higher Education & Research, Viz; JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru &
JSS College of Pharmacy Ooty, on the basis of the rank list prepared by the JSS
Academy of Higher Education & Research from marks secured in Qualifying
examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC/ D. Pham/ B. Pharm etc.) in relevant subjects conducted
by various Boards / University of Authority and JSS Academy of Higher Education &
Research entrance Test.
• 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign / Management.
• 15% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.

Age: The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December
2022 for admission to D. Pharm, B. Pharm, B. Pharm Practice and Pharm .D
program (6 years course)
• JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research entrance test score are valid only
for admission during the academic year 2022.
• Decision of the authorities of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research in
case of disputes will be final.

Requisite Qualifications:
Requisite qualification for D. Pharm course.

• Pass in H.Sc./PDC/PUC/10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany &


Zoology) or Mathematics.
Requisite Qualification for admission to B. Pharm course:

• Candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective


state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2
examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one
of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional
subjects individually. “However, the students possessing 10+2 qualification
from non-formal and non-class rooms based schooling such as National Institute
of Open Schooling, open school systems of States etc. shall not be eligible for
admission to B.Pharm Course.”

• Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as
equivalent to any of the above examinations. Provided that a student should
complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission
to the course.
Requisite Qualification for admission to B. Pharm (Lateral Entry) course:

• A pass in D. Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of


India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

Bachelor of Pharmacy Practice (B. Pharm. Pr.)

• Pass in Diploma in Pharmacy Course from an institution approved by


Pharmacy Council of India approved under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act
1948.
• Registered Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act.
• Minimum of four years of pharmacy practice experience in a community or
hospital pharmacy

Requisite Qualification for admission to Pharm D. course:

• Pass in H.Sc.,/PDC/PUC/10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany &


Zoology) or Mathematics
(OR)
• Pass in D. Pharm examination from PCI approved institution.

Requisite qualification for Pharm D. (Post Baccalaureate) course.


• Pass in B. Pharm from the recognized University and approved by Pharmacy
Council of India, New Delhi.

Requisite Qualification for admission to M. Pharm Course:

• A candidate who has passed B. Pharm course from any recognized University or
any other equivalent degree in pharmacy recognized by pharmacy council of
India (PCI) and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) for admission
and who has secured not less than 55% of the maximum marks (aggregate of
four years) prescribed for the qualifying examination, shall be eligible for the
admission to the M. Pharm course. (In case of SC/ST/OBC category, candidates
has to secure not less than 40% (aggregate of four years)

NOTE ON ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Candidates have to register and enter the application details through online to become
eligible for admission to Diploma, Undergraduate & Postgraduate Pharmacy courses
for the academic year 2022.
Please note the following:

• Online registration and application is a user-friendly process.


• First candidates have to register their names providing requested detail in the first
step of the online procedure and after getting login details, candidate can login and
fill up the online application form through JSS Academy of Higher Education &
Research, Mysuru website: www.jssuni.edu.in
• Before filling application form, please scan and store all the Documents, latest
Photograph and Signature as separate files in JPG/PDF format only. The same
needs to be uploaded as required during the ‘On-line Application’ process.
• Most of the fields will be only a selection from the readily available information;
and all the fields are self-explanatory with dropdown menu the candidates have to
select the suitable / appropriate items from the drop down list wherever applicable.
• The candidates have to select the declaration after confirming themselves that there
are no changes to be incorporated or all the entries made by them in the online
application are correct.
• After declaration by the candidates, the prescribed registration fee should be
remitted through payment gateway provided using a credit card OR a debit card
issued by a bank in India OR through internet banking.
• Once the declaration is done, there is no provision to change / edit / delete / add any
information to the entries already made by the candidates.
• Candidates are informed to make sure that the entries made before declaration are
correct.
• After completion of all the processes, the candidate must ensure that a print out of
his/her application is to be downloaded and produced at the time of entrance test &
counseling along with required documents.
• Please note that, the registration fee paid is NON-REFUNDABLE.

METHOD / STEPS FOR APPLYING:
Before entering the application form online, the candidates are advised to download
the blank application form and take two or three photocopies of the same and practice
on them in the prescribed manner.
PLEASE NOTE: The finally submitted application details through online by the
candidates will be the candidate's data for all further processing in the JSS Academy of
Higher Education & Research computers. Therefore, the candidates are advised not to
make any mistakes while making entries in the form and not to upload any documents /
papers (Except Photograph & Signature) in support of their claims to the filled
application form, Candidates are requested not send print out of the online application
and any documents to the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research office.

Steps:
Step 1: Candidates are required to select and click on “Admission notification” on the
home page by browsing URL on Website http://jssuni.edu.in & Select < Apply

Step 2: Candidates are required to register their name by selecting the course from the
drop down list and providing all the required information for registration
process. After successful registration, a registration number will be displayed on
the screen. The system generated email will be sent to their registered email-id.
Step 3: Candidates are required login to the system with the user ID, DOB &verify the
details by entering verification code.
Step 4: Once the candidates complete the student information entries, they will have to
upload all the Documents, Photograph & Signature in the given link and proceed
for payment.
Step 5: After completion of online payment, a hard copy of the application form will be
automatically generated with the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research
application number.
Step 6: Candidates have to take the printout of the application form on A-4 Size sheet of
paper. As per the instructions given on the printed application form, the same
copy should be retained with the candidate and same may be submitted at the
time of document verification, entrance test and counseling as announced.

Note: Candidates are advised to login to the website on 15.07.2022 for UG Courses
and 06.08.2022 for PG courses to download the TAT/Hall Ticket & look for
any further instruction.

15.07.2022 & 06.08.2022 along with any further instruction for UG programs and for PG
programs will be notified separately.
Syllabus for Entrance Test:
❖ The syllabus for entrance test for admission to D. Pharm, B. Pharm and Pharm
D and program will be at level of 10+2 / PUC examination in the subjects Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
❖ The syllabus for entrance test for admission to M. Pharm & Pharm D (Post
Baccalaureate) course will be on the basis of questions at III year and Final year
of B. Pharm course.

Instructions for Entrance Test:
THE EXAMINATION HALL WILL BE OPENED 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT
OF THE TEST. CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE THEIR SEATS AT LEAST 15 MINUTES
BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE EXAMINATION. IF THE CANDIDATES DO NOT
REPORT IN TIME, THEY ARE LIKELY TO MISS SOME OF THE IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
WHICH WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE EXAMINATION HALL.

• Candidate will not be allowed to appear for the test if he/she is late by 30 minutes or
more after the start of the examination. (Delay by any means of transportation to the
city and candidate reaching the test center beyond the given time will not be allowed
to enter the examination hall and take the test). It is advisable to reach the Test
Location a day prior to the examination.
• A seat with a TAT number will be allotted to each candidate in the examination hall.
Candidates must find out and occupy their allotted seats. If not his/her candidature shall
be cancelled.
• For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of the examination for any
reason, re-examination shall not be conducted by JSS Academy of Higher Education &
Research under any circumstances.
• No Candidates will be allowed to go outside the examination hall till the completion of
the entire duration of test. Once the candidate leaves the hall (even for answering a call
of nature) he/she will not be readmitted to examination hall. No exception will be made
in this regard.
• Candidates should maintain silence & discipline in the examination hall. Any
conversation, gesticulation or disturbance in the examination hall shall be considered as
misconduct / malpractice & the candidates involved in such behavior will be expelled from
the examination hall. Similarly, if any candidate is found using unfair means or allowing
someone else to impersonate him/ her, his/her candidature at the examination will be
instantaneously cancelled and the matter informed to the nearest police station.

• After completing the test & before handing over the Test Booklet & Answer Sheet back
to the invigilator, the candidate should check once again to see whether all the particulars
required in the Answer Sheet have been correctly written. He/She should ensure that the
Roll Number is correctly written on the answer sheet.
• A bell will ring at the beginning of the test & a bell will also ring before the closing time
when the candidate must stop marking the responses or writing.

GROUNDS FOR DISMISSALS:

The JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research entrance test 2022
administrator is authorized to dismiss a candidate from the test session for:

• Attempting to take the test for someone else. (Impersonation)


• Failing to provide acceptable identification when asked for.
• Creating disturbance at the test venue.
• Giving or receiving unauthorized help.
• Giving personal identification mark in answer sheet.
• Using any forbidden/unauthorized testing aids, such as personal computational
devices, cell phones, calculators, slide rules, log tables, etc.
• Attempting to remove scratch paper/rough sheets from the testing
Room/question booklet.
• Attempting to remove test questions (in any format) from the testing room.
• Failing to adhere to any of the other procedures and regulations cited.
• Refusing to follow directions as stipulated by the invigilators etc.
• Photographic mismatch / Photographs older than six months / Smudged or
hazy photograph will result in disqualification of the candidates.

REQUESTS FOR USE OF TOILET DURING THE TEST ARE NOT ENTERTAINED.

• Failure to comply with the test procedures and regulations or with the test
administrator's directions can result in JSS Academy of Higher Education &
Research taking necessary action/s that are not limited to barring candidates
from further participation in the test or cancelation of the test scores. If your
scores are cancelled, they will be reported to appropriate competent authority
and also your test fee will be forfeited.

MERIT LIST:
• The JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research will prepare a merit list
amongst the candidates who have applied and appeared for JSS Academy of
Higher Education & Research- 2022 entrance test for admission to the
D. Pharm, B. Pharm, B. Pharm (Lateral Entry), B. Pharm Pr. and Pharm D
course at the constituent institutions of the university, with the marks secured in
Qualifying examinations (10+2/PUC/HSC,/D. Pharm, etc.,) in relevant subjects
conducted by various Boards / University of Authority and the entrance
examination of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research.
• The JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research will prepare a merit list
amongst the candidates who have applied for admission to the
M. Pharm, Pharm – D (PB) course at the constituent institutions of the
university, with the marks secured in Qualifying examinations (B. Pharm) and
an entrance examination.
• The seat will be allotted through counseling based on JSS Academy of Higher
Education & Research–2022 merit / rank list prepared by JSS Academy of
Higher Education & Research.

COUNSELLIING & ON-THE-SPOT-ADMISSION SESSION:
• The entrance exam and counseling sessions will be conducted at JSS Academy of
Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, JSS Medical Institutions Campus,
Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysuru–570015, Karnataka.

• THE DATE OF ENTRANCE EXAM AND COUNSELING WILL BE HELD ON


21.07.2022 AND 11.08.2022. FAILURE TO REPORT FOR COUNSELLING ON THE
SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME WILL RESULT IN INSTANTANEOUS
CANCELLATION OF CLAIM OF THE CANDIDATE TO THE SEAT.
• The candidate should remain present for the counseling and for on-the-spot-admission.
• Only the candidate and one of his parents / guardian will be allowed into the hall
where counseling is held. The candidates will be called in the order of their ranking
in the merit list and offered the seats to the various courses available at that point
of time. The candidate will be allowed to choose admission to any of the courses if
a seat is available when his / her turn comes from the specialization opted by
him/her.
• The candidate must note that appearance for the examination and inclusion of name
in the Merit List does not necessarily mean that he / she will get admission to any
course. His / her admission to a particular course will depend upon the availability
of seats for that particular course at the time of counseling.
• At the time of reporting for the counseling, the candidate is required to produce the
documents (original and three sets of photocopies,) list mentioned above and six
recent passport size colour photographs. If the candidate fails to produce all or any
of the documents listed mentioned above he / she will instantaneously forfeit his /
her claim for a seat.
• The candidates in the merit list will be called as per their ranks for counseling and
on- the-spot admission to the various courses and colleges.

• Hostel facility is available both for boys and girls. The candidates desirous of
seeking admission to hostels will have to apply in prescribed form. The hostel
fees shall be charged separately.

• Differences of opinion and disputes arising in the interpretation and


implementation of the clauses in the brochure, if any, will be referred to the Vice-
Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, and his
decision shall be final and binding on all concerned.

BAN ON RAGGING:
• Ragging is a criminal offence as per Karnataka Educational Act 1983 and Hon’ble
Supreme Court of India. JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru
ensures strict compliance on the prevention of Ragging in any form.

Definition:
• “Ragging” means causing, inducing, compelling or forcing a student, whether by
way of a practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts from human
dignity or violates his person or exposes him to ridicule or to forbear from doing
any lawful act, by intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining or
injuring him or by using criminal force to him or by holding out to him any threat
of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of
criminal force. Supreme Court of India has defined ragging as a criminal offence.

Penalty for Ragging:


• No person who is a student of an educational institution shall commit ragging.
Supreme Court of India has ordered that “if any incident of ragging comes to the
notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if
his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from
the institution”.

Warning:
• No leniency will be shown to the offenders involved in ragging. All students are
requested to note and co-operate in keeping our university and its constituent
colleges free from ragging.
