Laboratory Exercise
Adding Optional Elements to a Passenger
Name Record (PNR)
Objective:

At the end of the exercise, the students should be able to:

 Add optional elements to a passenger name record (PNR) in the Amadeus system.

Materials:

 Internet connection
 Amadeus Selling Platform

Basic Principles:

It is also possible to add optional elements to a passenger name record, depending on the traveler’s need, such as other
service information, special service requests, remarks, and frequent flyer numbers.

Procedures:
1. Log on to the Amadeus selling platform using your credentials.

2. Practice all transaction commands discussed in 07 Handout 1. Follow your instructor’s demonstration. Call the
attention of your instructor if you have any questions.

3. Create a passenger name record using the following information:

Passenger 1 Passenger 2
Title Mr Mrs
Surname Guzman Guzman
First Name Juan Juana
Contact Information 09401234567
Travel required Manila to Seoul, one way trip in J class on December 28
Ana, Mr. Guzman’s secretary, made the booking request.
Enter the ticketing element that will place the PNR on the queue system on the 8th of December.

4. Once done, add the following optional elements:

Enter a remark stating that Mrs. Guzman’s passport details will be provided on December 8.
Advise the airline that Passenger 1 is a famous athlete.
Enter a special service request for a vegetarian Hindu meal for Passenger 1 and a low-calorie meal for
Passenger 2.

5. Once done, save the PNR and take note of the record locator.

6. Click the “new command page” on the top. Create another passenger name record based on the following scenario:

7. Julius, the assistant of Ms. Sara Thomas, is requesting a flight for his boss from Manila to San Francisco on February
15, returning on February 19 via Philippine Airlines, with the booking class J. The business contact information of
Ms. Sara is 0985123458. Julius mentioned that he would provide Sarah’s passport within the day. The passenger is
also a CEO of XYZ Industries. The passenger requested an aisle seat near the galley for both flights. A low-fat meal
is requested for the departure flight only. They will be provided with the ticket on the same day the booking is made.

8. Save your PNR and take note of the record locator.

9. Once done, place the screenshot of your finished PNR in a Word document, including the record locators, and
upload it in the 07 Laboratory Exercise 1 – ARG Dropbox in the eLMS with the filename:
LastName_FirstName_LE (e.g., Ferdinand_Daniel_LE) for checking.
