Veeam product versions and editions

A Veeam product has two major components that are subject to change: version and edition.

Product versions
Each new version refers to a new software release. Existing customers with active contracts are invited to download the latest versions to keep
up to date with the newest feature set. Once the upgrade of the new version is done, it’s impossible to downgrade to a previous version.
Each version release adds new features and functionality to the previous version. The version number defines the iteration the software has
gone through and can be identified by the number which follows the letter V, for example Vxx. The latest version and relative documentation -
including Release Notes and What’s New - can be found through My Account - My products menu

Product editions
The license product edition defines the Software/Product capabilities level. Veeam per-socket licenses have
three editions: Standard*, Enterprise* and Enterprise Plus. Standard* edition has the basic capabilities while
Enterprise Plus has the most capabilities.
Veeam Universal License is instead feature-complete and portable across workloads and environments.

If you are an existing customer with a per-socket license, still with an active support contract,
and are interested in optimising your data protection solution, we suggest you upgrade to Veeam
Universal License (VUL) - the flexible, portable and cost-effective licensing solution for your ever-
changing workload landscape. When upgrading to VUL, you will have access to the full product
features, 24.7.365 support and will be able to apply the VUL to the workloads of your choice.
With VUL, your licenses can evolve with your business, plus many more additional benefits!
If you prefer to maintain your current licensing level, we encourage you to maintain an active
support level. However, if you would like to upgrade your current per-socket edition to a higher
featured product, the only option available is to upgrade to Enterprise Plus.
