Pakistan Problems and Their Solutions

Pakistan faces several major problems including water scarcity, lack of development projects, and high youth unemployment. Key solutions proposed include completing major dams like Kalabagh and Diamer-Basha to prevent wasted water runoff, improving the country's education system by standardizing quality, increasing access across regions and genders, and expanding technical education opportunities. Addressing economic challenges such as high debt, trade imbalances, and tax collection through measures like lower interest rates, improved governance, and utilizing young workers could also help Pakistan overcome its current difficulties.

Pakistan problems and their solutions

Pakistan has faced major challenges in its socioeconomic situation over

past seventy years. However, not all problems have been overcome. The
key problems of today include: water scarcity; the lack of sustainable
development projects; an increasingly unemployed youth population
ne of the major issues the country is facing is a shortage of water.
According to research by the American University, Pakistan is among the
top ten countries in the world which are suffering from a water crisis.
Handling this water crisis will not be easy. It is necessary that work on the
Kalabagh and Diamer-Basha Dams be completed at the earliest possible
opportunity. According to a recent report, 40 million acre-feet (MAF) of
water is draining into the sea due to lack of dams. The Kalabagh Dam has
a capacity to store 6.4 MAF of water, the Diamer-Basha Dam can store 5.8
MAF, and the Dasu Dam can store 6 MAF of water. If these three dams
are completed, then lot of water will be saved from being wasted which
may aid in reducing the water shortage.
If these dams are not constructed, Pakistan will face a drinking water crisis
and its agriculture sector will be destroyed. In Pakistan, agriculture has a
deep connection with other industries, such as the textile and pesticide
industries. Due to a lack of water, both agriculture and agriculture-related
industries are on the brink of total collapse. The agricultural sector is
affected by both the lack of water as well as the government’s neglect:
such as not providing reasonable support prices or subsidies on fertilisers
and seeds.
Education
Education is very important for every human being. It makes one able to
understand what is happening around us logically and clearly. Only
educated person has the ability to take practical decisions and make right
moves at the right time.
“The foundation of every state is the education of its youth”.Diogenes Laertius
The Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan says,

“The state of Pakistan shall remove illiteracy and provide free and
compulsory secondary education within minimum possible period.”

Following are the problems in education in Pakistan.

1.Education System is based on

Unequal Lines
The educational system of Pakistan is based on unequal lines. Medium of
education is different in both, public and private sector. This creates a sort of
disparity among people, dividing them into two segments.

2.Regional Disparity

Regional disparity is also a major cause. The schools in Baluchistan (The Largest
Province Of Pakistan By Area) are not that much groomed as that of Punjab (The
Largest Province Of Pakistan By Population). In FATA, the literacy rate is
deplorable constituting 29.5% in males and 3% in females.

3. Ratio of Gender Discrimination

The ratio of gender discrimination isa cause which is projecting the primary
school ratio of boys & girls which is10:4 respectively. For the last few years there
has been an increase in the growth of private schools. That not only harms the
quality of education but creates a gap among haves and has not.

4.Lack of Technical Education

The lack of technical education is a biggest flaw in the educational policy that has
never been focused before. Therefore, less technical people mean less.

Poverty is also another factor that restricts the parents to send their
children to public or private schools. So, they prefer to send their children
to madrassas where education is totally free.

Solutions

Estimating the value of education, the Government should take solid steps
on this issue. Implementation instead of projecting policies should be
focused on.

Allocation of funds should be made easy from provinces to districts and

then to educational institutes.

Technical education must be given to all the classes. The education board
of Punjab has projected a plan to give tech- education to the children of
industrial workers

Education is the only cure of the instability in the state and can bring
revolution through evolution,by eradicating the social evils. This is how to
remove illiteracy in Pakistan.

Pakistan has been facing different challenges regarding to its economy. The
economic situation of Pakistan is very critical and people are looking towards the
solution of these challenges faced by the economy of Pakistan. Pakistan has
different opportunities which can help it to solve its economic problem. But without
tackling long term challenges and problems decisively, country will no longer be able
to take advantages of opportunities. Increase in debt, increase in import and
decrease in export, low saving, lower investment, low tax collection, lack of policy
implementation, excessive taxation are some of the challenges faced by the
Pakistan’s economy. Some of the solutions of these problems are offering low
interest rate, collection of the taxes, proper use of young labor force, use of
technology, governance and decentralization.
