Adjustment of the Late Arrival Sheet Detector
QS CAUTION
Be sure to read and fully understand the “Safety Precautions” before performing this procedure.
If there are safety remarks in the toxt, be sure to follow them.
‘The late arrival sheet detector sensor on the feeder board is set to 10 mm outside of both sheet edges. Therefore,
the feeder will be tripped if sheet deviation is 10 mm or more.

procedure.
Sheet flow detection
*) Function
41) This function detects errors in the timing for sheets coming out of the press.
If the sheet has not passed through the cylinder engagement sensor during the ON/OFF timing that was set
by the varicam (sheet delay detection on the program number O/switch number 7 board), this is determined
to be an error and eylinder disengagement is performed.
2) Ifthe sensor is activated as described above, the Sheet Flow indicator on the feeder unit turns on, and Sheet
Flow Detection is displayed on the PC touch panel,
4S CAUTION
‘This function dees not work unless the FEEDING DETECTION button on the feeder auxiliary panel is set to
ON.
2). Setting procedure
41) Adjust the timing with the press,
2), Discharge sheets with the press running at slow speed,
3) Stop the press when around three sheets have come out.
4) Inch the press, and stop when the edge of the first sheet is about § mm from the cylinder engagement
detection sensor.
5) Manually run the press in the normal direction, and then stop the press as soon as Cylinder Engagement
indicators on the feeder unit tums on. (This operation must be performed by two people.)
6) Read the varicam timing at this time, and then enter the setting valuo. Use the formula below to make the
selting for program number 0 and switch number 7, where cc is the press timing,
ON a-5"
OFF +20"
QS CAUTION
If the press is relocated, the timing between the feeder and press will not match. As a result, the first sheet
feeding error monitor function may be activated, and paper will be unable to be fed. In this case, turn off the
FEEDING DETECTION button on the auxiliary panel on the feeder unit, and then adjust the timing. Once
adjustment is finished, be sure to set the FEEDING DETECTION button to ON.
Sheet jam detection
1) Function
41) This function detects whether sheets are jammed on the feeder board.
If the first sheet has not passed through the cylinder engagement sensor when the eighth sheet has been
sent out from the sucker, this is determined to be an error and cylinder disengagement is performed,
2) Ifthe sensor is activated as described above, the Sheet Flow indicator on the feeder unit turns on, and Sheet
Flow Detection is displayed on the POC touch panel.
QQ CAUTION
The sheets are counted by the varicam timing (program number Oiswitch number 4) signal when the Feeder
button is set to ON, the Feeder Pump button is set to ON, and the Feeder Air Valve is set to ON.

Prohibiting Use of Waste Paper
QS CAUTION
Be sure to read and fully understand the “Safety Precautions” before performing this procedure.
If there are Safety remarks in the toxt, be sure to follow them,
This press has been designed with a grip changing mechanism between the impression cylinders and with an
extremely narrow gap between these cylinders. As a result, paper having a thickness of 0.2 mm or more cannot be
used,
In addition, the feeding of poor-quality sheets and paper can damage the impression cylinder and the impression
cylinder jacket, The use of waste paper increases this risk
The following actions are prohibited.
+ Use of waste paper
+ Passing paper through the press twice
+ Removing stip paper
+ Paper having creases at the corners at the leading edg
