OBJECTIVE
The main Objective of this Document is to enable us to know the concepts and
knowledge of Micom Relays MCL configuration using S1 Agile software.
1. BASIC REQUIREMENTS
A Laptop with windows OS with minimum 10GB of free space.
MiCOM S1 Agile Setup Software Latest version.
Installed Proper Data Model for micom relay corresponding Model number.
Serial cable for Front Port and RJ45 for Rear Port for communicating Micom
relays.
Stable AC/DC Supply with proper earthing should be verified to avoid errors or
malfunction during communication.
Verify the approved schemes in order to configure Micom relay.
2. DO’S
IP Address must be verified with the respective Relays.
Communication Port Number to be verified and should be same in both micom
relay Setup as well in Laptop.
All Configurations to work offline and the backup must to be maintained in
order to avoid conflicts.
After Communicating, the first step is to download 3 types of files (.mcl, .psl,
.setting) from relays and save it to Laptop or DR PC’s.
If use Lan Port to send MCL file, please switch configuration.
3. DONT’S
Do not remove the physical medium (i.e. Cable) while uploading or downloading
the files.
Do not send MCL file without validation.
Don’t change the name for the folder. Leave the default “MiCOM S1 Agile”.
Click Next
After Successful Removal process. Reboot the Laptop or PC, which is to remove
the Files from registry.
After click quick connect then One Popup is open create new file or open exiting
file.
Create new file, Enter Name of the site and choose Path file where you want to
save.
In Front Port communication we need 9 Pin Serial Male to female serial cable
and then serial to USB converter.
Select “Front Port” to communicate.
7. MCL CONFIGURATION
7.1 Create New MCL
Open IEC 61850 cfg file in following path Drive CProgram file(x86)Alstom
gridMiCom S1 AgileIED configuratorIEC61850_IED_Configurator
Right clickOpen file or Double click on it.
After open IED configuration goto tool bar in fileCreate a new file(.MCL)
For creating a new mcl file, enter particular Relay Model number and Click
Select.
7.3 COMMUNICATION
Choose Single copper or redundant means relay communicate both patch card
and Lan cable (RJ45).
7.4 SNTP
In SNTP used for Time synchronization purpose, enter the GPS IP address in
External server1 (eg.10.22.91.100).
Create Another Dataset for Protection as per scheme added Protection node in
this dataset.
Added another dataset for GOOSE in this dataset added only status and quality
of GGIO2.
Goose Identifier is G3001 and then it converts into hexadecimal value (BB9)
same as put Goose APP id (BB9).
Pop up open Goose external blinging, select show all goose control block
Choose device and its corresponding goose want subscribe and click select.
8. SCL EXPORT
8.1 Export ICD&CID file
In Tool barselect Tool option Export configuration to SCL.
Export file save as per need save ICD, CID & IID file.
