Chapter 4: PRESENTATION OF DATA

Methods of Presenting Data

A. Textual Method
In this method, collected data are presented in narrative and paragraph forms;
sentences are used to describe the data.

B. Tabular Method
In tabular form, data are organize into rows and columns

C. Graphical Method
Graphs are used to present data in more clearly, more creatively in attractive and
colorful figures. In this method, data is presented in visual form.

Different Kinds of Graphs

A. Bar Graph
Bar graphs are a very common type of graph best suited for a qualitative
independent variable.
Bar graphs can be shown with the dependent variable on the horizontal scale. This
type of bar graph is typically referred to as a horizontal bar graph. Otherwise, the layout
is similar to the vertical bar graph.

B. Line Graph
It is a graph that shows related information by drawing connecting lines between
points of data. Line graphs compare two variables. Each variable is plotted along an axis.
A line graph has a vertical axis and a horizontal axis.

C. PIE GRAPH
A circular chart, also called a circle graph, cut into sections by lines going
through its center. Pie charts divide information like pie pieces and show parts of a
whole.

D. PICTOGRAPH
Pictograph is a way of representing statistical data using symbolic figures to match
the frequencies of different kinds of data.

E. STATISTICAL MAP
One the best method to present geographical data. It is always accompanied by a
legend which tells the meaning of the lines, colors and other symbols used.
