FMD CBT TRAINING INSTRUCTIONS:

With reference to Furuno FMD CBT training booked for below candidate, please refer and follow
instructions exactly as listed below. Please note that the training is a CBT / OFFLINE mode (and not
online) Hence, once CBT software is downloaded (single time procedure), no net connection is
required.

Instruction and procedure is copied below.

 AA) The Furuno FMD CBT training is an offline training and the candidate does not need internet
during the period of training and assessment.

BB) However, the CBT data (around 1.03 GB in size) has to be first downloaded into a WINDOWS OS
Laptop / PC which is to be used by the candidate. Same can be installed if the CBT data is already
burnt and provided on a CD / USB or else, shall need to be downloaded from the internet.

This is a maker provided software and is NOT compatible with other operating systems like Apple -
IoS, Linux, Android etc. It will only work on a Windows based laptop or PC

Once downloaded on a particular Windows Laptop / PC the candidate will have to use the same
unit till completion of course. 

Please do note that this course is CBT based; you can make multiple attempts; shut down and start
up the software and computer at will / at your own convenience.

 DD)

1. Once the data is downloaded, copy same to desk top and  UNZIP/EXTRACT  the folder there.
The extracted folder name shall be FMD CBT Trainee ver 4.0.25.9 This Version of Software
best compatible for Windows 10 Users.  (For Older Windows 7 or Windows 8 Users you may
instead download ver 4.0.25.4, instead) Please download the correct version for your
Windows OS.
2. Open this folder and you shall find a window’s batch file( .bat ) with Name of FMDCBT.
3. Double click FMDCBT to run this batch file.
4. Depending on the level of virus protection on your PC, since this is application file, if the
protection setting are too high, your computer’s Virus and Malware protection may block
the application from running.
5. If blocked, either you shall have to give exlsuive permission for the application to run on
your PC ( keep reading your screen for more info) or you may have to temporarily stop your
virus protection.
6. (Since each computer uses different type of virus protection and is set up to different levels of
blocking, we at FMTI regretfully shall not be able to assist vastly with IT changes within your
PC) 
Please allow the software to install all elements – do not at any stage click on NO or QUIT. Please do
not block installation or disallow any product like flashwave player, which the Furuno FMD software
wishes to install .Press continue whenever option is available on screen.

 EE) After successful installation and upgrade of software, a menu box opens.

 Candidate is now required to click on CREATE NEW USER.

This will open, yet another sub menu, where candidate will be required to accurately fill up details
like Name, DOB etc. This is also where the candidate will input USER ID and PASSWORD of his choice.

 FF) Once above is done, the candidate can log in with the USER ID and PASSWORD. He can now
commence, pause and resume training at his convenience. Each time, procedure for logging in, is
identical to steps above, where the USER ID and PASSWORD already created, must be used. 

As indicated earlier, you can exit software  and shutdown/ start up your computer on multiple
occasion.

(All you training gets saved at all intermittent stages – none of your progress is lost)

IMPORTANT : PLEASE DO NOT DO THE TRAINING IN ONE SITTING - PLEASE TAKE BREAKS .

WHEN YOU NEED A BREAK / IF NOT USING THE SOFTWARE FOR   MORE THAN 5 MINS,
IMMEDIATELY  CLICK ON EXIT  AND FULLY SHUT DOWN THE SOFTWARE. YOU CAN LOG IN AGAIN,
WHENEVER YOU WANT TO RESTART.

PLEASE DO NOT KEEP THE SOFTWARE RUNNING IN DISUSE  OR IN PAUSE MODE FOR MORE THAN
5-7 MINS. THE SOFTWARE WILL GLITCH IN THE BACKGROUND.

IF THIS PROCESS IS IGNORED, THE ENTIRE TRAINING PROCEDURE WILL NEED TO BE REPEATED.
THIS IS THE SOFTWARE DESIGN AND CANNOT BE RECTIFIED.

GG) The training is CBT based and has only visuals / No sound. Candidate is to perform training in
sequential systematic order. Once training is completed, he may now commence the open book test.

(There is an inbuilt operator manual within  the software.Also, within the downloaded folder, you
can go to Application / FMD310032003300/Documents and open / copy all the pdf manuals from
there)

HH) Once the candidate successfully completes the test (scores 90% or higher), he has to advise
same by sending and email self

 II ) Once the above passing confirmation email is received,  we shall provide a license and rest of the
guidance, which the candidate is required to follow.

JJ) Please be reminded that the digital certificate will be sent by Furuno, Japan ONLY after 3 to 5
working days.

KK) Please confirm by email successful installation of CBT software and commencement of training.
