Flow Designer is a Now Platform® feature that enables process owners to


automate work. Build multi-step flows from reusable components without
having to code.

With Flow Designer, you can do the following:

• Automate repetitive work to improve efficiency and experience.

• Describe a workflow in natural language to help non-technical users


understand what it does.

• Display flows as diagrams to help builders see available paths and


connections.

• Create and test a workflow from a single interface to ensure it works as


expected.

• Promote process automation by enabling subject matter experts to


develop and share reusable actions with flow authors.

• Reduce upgrade costs, with upgrade-safe Now Platform logic


replacing complex custom script.

• Reduce development costs by providing a library of reusable actions.

Integration Hub

Automate integration tasks or build your own custom integrations with


Integration Hub. Integration Hub extends Flow Designer with several
predefined components that enable you to integrate your instance data
with data in external systems. These predefined components include the
following.

Spokes

Spokes have pre-built actions and flows that you can use to set up and
integrate with third-party APIs or other external systems. For example,
with the Slack spoke you can create a flow that automatically posts a
message and incident details in a Slack channel whenever a high priority
incident is created.

Integration steps

Integration Steps are steps in Action Designer that you can use to create
your own integrations. Examples of integration steps include the REST
step, the SOAP step, and the Script step.

Additional applications

Additional applications to simplify and automate your integrations. For


example, Remote Process Sync enables you to set up one-way or
bidirectional integrations among multiple ServiceNow instances so that
your process flows stay in sync.

Use Integration Hub in the following situations:

• When you're connecting with a modern application that has an API


available.

• When the application you’re connecting with frequently changes.

• When you need a faster response time. The actual response time
depends on the use case.

element-based automations, and APIs that interact between various
business applications, you can emulate user actions and eliminate
mundane and repetitive human activities. Robotic Process Automation
has the following components.

Attended and Unattended Robots

Robots execute repetitive tasks. There are both attended and


unattended robots, so you can automate tasks that require human
intervention and tasks that don't.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Hub

RPA Hub is an application where you can deploy, monitor, manage,


measure, and verify compliance of all your robots at an enterprise level.

RPA Desktop Design Studio

RPA Desktop Design Studio is an application where you can design or


configure robotic automation workflows.

Use Robotic Process Automation in the following situations:

When the application you’re connecting with doesn’t have an API and
only UI-based access is available. For example, if you’re working with a
small application or legacy system that doesn’t provide an API, or the
provided API doesn’t have the required functionality.

• When the process is rule driven, or spans multiple desktop applications


in a complex way, such as data entry across multiple systems.

• When a response time of a few seconds to minutes is acceptable. The


actual response time depends on the use case.

Document Intelligence

Automate document data extraction with Document Intelligence.


Document Intelligence is a machine learning solution that enables quick
and accurate data extraction from a variety of documents, including
