Interview Writing

1. Three questions which an interviewer or reporter could ask a persona in


the text, in order to elicit the key explicit and implicit information.

2. Objective of an interview is to seek and convey information, ideas and


opinions.
a. E.g. written magazine interview or script of an interview- radio,
podcast, television, youtube…)

3. Features: -

a. Question Words (Eg:- Do you think that the time has come for you
to reduce?)
b. Link Words

4. Format & Layout: -


a. Question and Response Form
b. The good news is that you do not need to use speech marks,
instead you layout your writing like this,

E.g.
Anna: Hello, long time no see!
Cyril: Where have you been?
Anna: I have been travelling….

5. Use PAFT / VARP


a. The voice becomes very important
b. Who is answering the question?
c. The format and the tone of the text is to be noted.
