CONFIGURING SMS OFFICER FOR OUTLOOK

Use SMSOfficer to enable your SMS text messaging functionality on your

Microsoft Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010 and SharePoint 2010.

How to configure the SMS Officer in Outlook:

1) Click on File->Options in outlook (In case of Outlook 2010)


2) Click on Mobile ->Mobile options

3) Once you click on Mobile Options you receive the configuration options for mobile
messaging. Click on Next.
4) Next you would get the Outlook Mobile Service Account settings configuration. Click on
the link that is highlighted to get connected to SMS Officer

5) Once you click on the link it redirects to the SMS Officer website where you need to
provide the details of your location and the Service Provider. Then click on SMS
Officer.
6) Next page that you get is to create a account in SMS Officer. Click on Sign Up option.
7) Please fill the form that you get once you click on Sign Up and click on Next
8) Once you click on next it would give you another form where you need to fill all the
information’s.

Verification Code: This would be sent to the registered Mobile number that is
mentioned in the Sign Up form
Full Name: Type your full name with your Initial
Password: It would be better if you use the your Outlook Password
Email: Mention the email address for which you need to Configure
(Eg:xxx@moneygram.com)
Exchange Server: If you are sure about the Exchange Server name select anyone from
the list. If not mention as not sure
Affiliate Code: It’s Optional
Check the option “I would like to receive updates and notification”
Click Next
9) Click on Configure Outlook. After you click on Configure Outlook security warning will
appear. Click on Allow.
10) After clicking on Allow it would prompt for “Adding the account in Microsoft Office
Outlook for this web service”. Click on Yes.

11) After the configuration it would be automatically configured with the Service Provider
URL, User name and Password in the below mentioned fields

12) Click on the “Test Account Settings”. This would send a Test SMS to the Registered
Mobile Number

13) Click on “More Settings”. Finish the configuration.

14) It would prompt for restarting the Outlook. Click on File->Exit and then restart the
outlook to take place the changes effectively.
15) Relaunch Outlook. You would be able to view a new “Exchange Server” added to your
Email Account Settings.

Note: This configuration is useful only if your Mobile Number is Properly Updated in the
Outlook so that you would never miss your meetings anymore. In the SMS Officer Website
while registering you can look for demo how it works and how to send the emails.
