General Instructions:
1. This question paper contains two parts A and B.
Part – A:
1. It consists three sections- I and II.
2. Section I has 16 questions of 1 mark each.
3. Section II has 4 questions on case study. Each case study has 4 case-based sub-parts.
Part – B:
1. Question No 21 to 26 are Very short answer Type questions of 2 mark each,
2. Question No 27 to 33 are Short Answer Type questions of 3 marks each
3. Question No 34 to 36 are Long Answer Type questions of 5 marks each.

PART -A
SECTION -I
1. What is the sum of exponents of prime factors in the prime factorisation of 196?
2. If the sum and product of the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial are 3 and -10 respectively, find
the quadratic polynomial.
3. x and y are 2 different digits. If the sum of the two digit numbers formed by using both the
digits is a perfect square, then what is the value of x+y?

16. Two coins are tossed simultaneously. Find the probability of getting at least one head.

SECTION-II
17. A part of monthly hostel charges in a college is fixed and the remaining depends on the
number of days one has taken food in the mess. When a student Anu takes food for 25 days,
she has to pay Rs.4500 as hostel charges, where as another student Bindu who takes food for
30 days, has to pay Rs.5200 as hostel charges.

Considering the fixed charges per month as Rs.𝑥 and the cost of food per day by Rs. 𝑦, then
answer the following questions.

34. An AP consists of 37 terms. The sum of the three middle most terms is 225 and the sum of the 5M
last three terms is 429. Find the AP.
35. An express train takes 1 hour less than a passenger train to travel 132 km between Mysore 5M
and Bangalore (without taking in to consideration the time they stop at intermediate
stations). If the average speeds of the express train is 11 km/h more than that of the
passenger train find the average speed of two trains.
