1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each

6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with subparts of the
values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs of 3 marks and 2
Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in the 2marks
questions of Section E

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each.


32 The sum of four consecutive numbers in an A.P. is 32 and the ratio of the product of 5
the first and the last term to the product of two middle terms is 7: 15. Find the
numbers.

The houses in a row are numbered consecutively from 1 to 49. Show that there
exists a value of 𝑥 such that sum of numbers of houses preceeding the house
numbered 𝑥 is equal to the sum of the houses following 𝑥.

Two water taps together can fill a tank in 9 8hours. The tap of larger diameter takes 5

10 hours less than the smaller one to fill the tank separately. Find the time in which
each tap can separately fill the tank.

If 𝑥 = −2 is a root of the equation 3𝑥 + 7𝑥 + 𝑝 = 0, find the values of 𝑘 so that the

34 Solve the following system of linear equations graphically: 5
3𝑥 + 𝑦 − 12 = 0; 𝑥 − 3𝑦 + 6 = 0
Shade the region bounded by the lines and 𝑥 − axis. Also find the area of shaded
region.
35 Three sets of Science, History and Drawing books have to be stacked in such a way 5
that all the books are stored topic wise and the height of each stack is the same. The
number of science books is 192, the number of history books is 480 and the number
of drawing books is 672. Assuming that the books are of same thickness, determine
the number of stacks of Science, History and Drawing books.
SECTION E
Case study-based questions are compulsory
36 A family room is an informal, all-purpose room in
a house. The family room is designed to be a place
where family and guests gather for group
recreation like talking, reading watching TV and
other family activities. The length, breadth and
height of a room are 8m 25 cm, 6m 75 cm and 4m
50cm.

i. Determine the longest rod which can measure the three dimensions of the room
exactly. 2

i. Prove that the product of LCM and HCF (825 and 675) = Product of 825 and 675
ii. What is LCM of the given three measurements. 1
iii. If the HCF ( 825 and 675) = 75, then find LCM ( 825 and 675) 1

37 Basketball and Soccer are played with a spherical ball. Even though an athlete
dribbles the ball in both sports, a basketball player uses his hands and a soccer player
uses his feet. Usually, soccer is played outdoors on a large field and basketball is
played indoor on a court made out of wood. The projectile (path traced) of soccer ball
and basketball are in the form of parabola representing quadratic polynomial.
i. What is the shape of the path traced by the ball? 1

iii. Find three zeroes in the above graph?

38 Sri wants to participate in a 200 m race. He can currently run that distance in 51
seconds and with each day of practice it takes him 2 seconds less. He wants to do in
31 seconds.

i. Write the A.P for the given situation. 1


ii. What is the minimum number of days he needs to practice till his goal is reached?

ii. If nth term of an A.P is given by 𝑎𝑛 = 2n +3, then find its common difference?
iii. Check whether 30 is a term of the given situation. 1
