COMMUNITY SERVICE NSTP 2

Community service is an essential component of the Philippines' National Service

Training Program (NSTP), which aims to instill civic awareness and social responsibility

in students. Tutoring at local primary schools and cleaning up public spaces such as

parks and wildlife centers are two of the opportunities offered to students. These events

allow students to interact with the community and gain an understanding of the

difficulties that some members of society experience.

We, students, go through a variety of preparations, both personal and collective,

before participating in community service. We attended orientation seminars to learn the

skills and knowledge needed for our allocated tasks. The tutoring experience at Benigno

Aldana Elementary School gives us the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of

young students. Students learn how to communicate with children, how to apply various

teaching approaches, and how to motivate them to study. These abilities are critical in

laying a solid basis for a student's personal and professional progress. Cleaning up

public spaces such as the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildfire Center wall, on the other

hand, is a tough physical activity. It necessitates perseverance, drive, and collaboration.

Students must work together to complete the activity, which promotes a sense of unity

and friendship.

The task has high goals and desires, and students must work hard to meet them.

Working with students who have varied learning styles and require different teaching

approaches is one of these responsibilities. Students must be physically fit to clean up

public spaces, especially when working in sweltering weather. Students that participate

in community service encounter both joys and achievements as well as problems and

difficulties. When students see the impact they are having on the community, they

experience joy and triumph. It can be quite wonderful to witness the children's smiles as

they learn something new or to see the park transform into a clean and beautiful area.

The hardships and obstacles, on the other hand, can be terrifying. Tutoring

involves patience and ingenuity, especially when working with youngsters who are

having difficulty learning. Cleaning up public spaces can be difficult because of the

physical labor involved, and the weather can often make the effort much more difficult.

Overall, the community service (CS) experience has been helpful to us as students. It

teaches us the significance of civic duty and social responsibility. It also helps us to

practice important life skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Community work can foster a feeling of civic participation and social

responsibility among the general public. Students that take an active role in improving

their communities may motivate others to do the same. This can lead to a more involved

and active citizenry, which can lead to beneficial changes in society.

Ultimately, community service is an important component of the Philippine

National Service Training Program (NSTP). It allows students to engage with their

community, understand the issues that some members of society experience, and make

a good difference. Although it has its own set of difficulties, the benefits, and lessons
taught are priceless. Students can become active citizens with the skills and knowledge

needed to make a difference in their communities by participating in community service.
