ATX-LISA Board

The document describes the LISA board used in NCR ATX PC cores in ATMs. The LISA board provides access to two additional serial ports on the motherboard and breaks out the signals to external connectors. It includes decoupling capacitors to filter noise. Connectors J1 and J2 carry signals for serial ports 3 and 4 out of the core. Connector J3 carries the serial port signals from the motherboard to the LISA board.

ATX - LISA Board

INTRODUCTION
This chapter describes the LISA connector break-out board used in
ATX PC cores in NCR ATMs.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

J1

J3

J2

The LISA board is required in the ATX cores to give access to the
additional two serial ports on the SSPA, and ATX motherboards.
The board is attached to the metalwork of the core box and includes
feedthrough decoupling capacitors on all signals to filter out noise
picked up from within the box.

The additional serial port logic can be disabled from the SSPA
board (see Chapter 25.4).

TEST TOOLS
None.

STRAPPING
None.

ADJUSTMENTS
None.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The LISA logic can be disabled from the switchpack U1 on the
SSPA board (see Chapter 25.4).

INTERNAL CABLES
Schematic diagrams of the cables between modules inside the ATX
PC Core are in Chapter 6.2.25. This section shows pinouts of the
connectors on the LISA board.

SERIAL PORT CONNECTORS J1 AND J2

The two 9-way subminiature D-type connectors J1 and J2 carry the
Serial 3 and Serial 4 port signals out of the core. The pinouts are as
