III. TEACHING PROCEDURE


1. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES

A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson


The teacher will ask the students regarding the previous lesson which is all about the
basic fundamental steps of arms & feet in folk dancing.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson


The teacher will show the Lesson Objectives and the students will read it.

C. Presenting instances for the lesson


Before proceeding to the next topic, the class will have a game called Picture trivia.
1. The teacher will group the class into 5.
2. The Teacher will present 5 pictures and the students will guess what kind of
folkdance it is.
3. But to make it easier for the class, it will have clues in it.
4. All they have to do, is fill in the missing letters on the words given below the picture.
5. The class will be given 15 seconds every picture.
6. The group who can get the correct answer in each picture will earn 10 points for
recitation.

1. What is folk dance?


Folk dance are the traditional dances of a country which were evolved naturally and
spontaneously in connection with everyday activities and experiences of the people who developed
them.

E. Developing Mastery (Leads to formative assessment)


The teacher will discuss the lesson while showing to the students the pictures of the
characteristics of the Philippine folk dance. Then the teacher will proceed to the classification of
Philippine folk dance.

F. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily living


Group Activity

Advise students to master the hands and arm movements in folk dancing. Let them record
their performance in an MP4 format. They may use any folk dance music to accompany their
performance. They may use costumes to enhance the performance. Send the video through
messenger.
