1 Overview
BPA121 is used to replace Cub, so the operation of the scale is based on Cub. The most functions are similar to
Cub. But besides these basic functions we add new features, such as GEO, battery voltage indicate, statistic and
so on.

2 Software Tools
IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM 7.30

3 Functions

3.1 Key
We have only two keys, the zero key and the tare key.

3.2 Indications
重 量(g)

0
零位 g kg 净重

We use the four LEDs in the bottom of display screen to indicate the status of the scale. From the left to right the
four LEDs are as following:
"Center of zero": The LED indicates that the scale is in the center of zero;
"g": If the unit is g, the LED is on and the "kg" LED is off
"kg": If the unit is kg, the LED is on and the "g" LED is off
Note: If the "g" and "kg" LED are all off it means the unit is lb
"Net": If the LED is on, it indicates that the scale is in net mode

Green LED Orange LED Red LED LED Off Red LED Blink

We use the color led to indicate the battery power if we do not turn off the color in the user menu.
With AC Status
Orange Charging
Green Full
Off No battery

Only battery Status

Green Plenty of power, can work at least 8 hours
Red Maybe less than 8 hours
Blinking Red Low power warning
Show "LO BAT" Ready to auto power off

If the scale is support only by battery and the power is too low, the scale will show "LOBAT", the user can do
nothing but only power off. The "LO BAT" will show about 20s, if the user does not turn off the scale, the scale will
turn off automatically. If the voltage is very low, the scale will auto off directly to protect the battery no matter the
"LOBAT" is shown or not or how many time the "LO BAT" have shown.

Note: By the test with second display show weight "0.000", brightness level 3, the scale work only with battery
last about 170 hours, within the 170 hours the color led show red last about 24 hours and the red blink status last
about 2.5 hours.

3.3 Power on
Press the zero key,the scale shows "8.8.8.8.8.8." with all LEDs light, then the firmware version, then the
firmware BOM number. Then the scale will do the power up zero with display "------". After that the scale will enter
the basic weigh as the following picture.
Note: The firmware version format is changed to x.xx.xxx
重 量(g)

零位 净重

The range of power up zero is according to the menu setting.

3.4 Power off

Press and hold the zero key until the scale shows "Off" as the following picture, then the scale will power off. After
release the key the scale will power off.

重 量(g)

3.5 Zero
Press the zero key to do the "push button zero operation". The push button zero range is +/-2%. If zero
successfully, the scale will show the result of zero directly. If not, nothing will happen.
In net mode, if the zero operation is success, the scale will return to gross mode if the approval is not Sri Lanka
approval.

3.6 Tare
Press the tare key to do the "push button tare operation". If tare successfully, the scale will show the result of tare
directly. If not, nothing will happen.
In net mode, empty the scale, and then press the tare key, the actual operation is clear tare. The scale will return
to gross mode.

4 Menu
There are two menus for us to configure the scale.
1. User menu: In this menu we can setup the parameters which are not relevant with the metrology.

2. Metrology menu: In this menu we can setup the parameters which are relevant with the metrology
Note: The options in bold font are the default factory setting in the user menu table and Metrology menu table

4.1 Menu operation

In the menu, the zero key and the tare key have different functions.
Zero key: Accept current option and move to next menu item;
Tare key: Choose the next option;
Exit the menu: Press the zero key until the scale display as following:

1 means exit menu with save;
Press the zero key to exit the menu.

4.2 User menu

To enter the user menu, we need to press and hold the tare key, until the scale displays as the following picture.

4.4 Two Point Calibration

Step1:Choose calibration unit

Enter the metrology menu, set S3 to 1, press zero key, the display will be as following:

重 量(g)

KG
零位 净重

The display is the calibration unit, press the tare key to switch the calibration unit, and then press the zero key to
confirm and then the scale will enter the next step.

Step2: Calibrate zero point

Empty the scale, and then press the zero key, the scale will display "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" in order. If the scale is motion in
this time, the counter will return to 5. If calibrate done, it will enter next step.

Step3: Calibrate high point

Capacity(lb) 3 5 7.5 15 30 60
Calibrate weight(lb) 2 5 5 20 20 40

The high calibration weight cannot be changed, according to the calibrate unit and capacity you choose, choose
the correct calibrate weight in the table above. Put the weight on the scale then press the zero key. The scale will
display "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" in order. If the scale is motion in this time, the counter will return to 5. If it is done, the two
point calibration is finished.

4.5 Three Point Calibration

Step1:Choose calibration unit

Enter the metrology menu, set S3 to 1, press zero key, the display will be as following:

重 量(g)

KG
零位 净重

The display is the calibration unit, press the tare key to switch the calibration unit, and then press the zero key to
confirm and then the scale will enter the next step.

Step2: Calibrate zero point

Capacity(lb) 3 5.0 7.5 15 30 60
Middle weight(lb) 1.5 2.5 4.0 7.5 15 30

The middle calibration weight cannot be changed, according to the calibrate unit and capacity you choose,
choose the correct middle calibration weight in the table above. Put the weight on the scale then press the zero
key. The scale will display "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" in order. If the scale is motion in this time, the counter will return to 5. If it
is done, it will enter next step.

Step4: Calibrate high point

重 量(g)

H 0

The high calibration weight cannot be changed. It is just the capacity you choose. Put the weight on the scale
then press the zero key. The scale will display "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" in order. If the scale is motion in this time, the counter
will return to 5. If it is done, the three point calibration is finished.
